How many push ups can the PDF member perform?

Dude, I wish I could pull ONE of those.. LOL ... :P

Start out slow... when i started out 2 years ago i was over weight, I weighed around 236lbs and 5.11". I had gained weight after graduating from college in India due to lack of workout and busy schedule at work. When i decided to get back to working out first 6 months I wasn't to serious about it. When I did get serious about it, first thing I did was started working out twice a day.... Best weight loss trick is to supercharge your metabolism... Get your heart rate up by cardio first thing in the morning before you eat anything. Your body's metabolism will be substantially higher... Today I am 185 lbs from 236 lbs, 18" tone arms, from 14" arms with no shape, 32" wiast from 38" waist.

Next is ensure 5 meals a day, which should total in your case minimum of 200 gms of protein. Chicken, Lean beef, Egg whites, Fish, and Protein shakes. Do not shy away from protein supplements. There are some other things which has immensely helped me in my goals, especially multi-vitamins, Bcaa's, and pre workout boosters. I will post details of my diet plan and suppliments if you are intersted more in the topic.

Loosing stomach fat: For men, stomach fat is basically the fat reservoir of the body, what that essentially means it is the last part of the body from which fat is depleted. you can hasten that process by ensuring consistent flow of blood and nutrients to your stomach muscles, work your abs exactly as much you work on your biceps...

Cardio sucks:
For me spending 45 mins on treadmill or 1hr 30 mins on elliptical sucks... Instead switch it up with high intensity interval training. The easiest is to go for sprints. On a track burst 100 meter sprints and the jog for 200 meters. Take 5 sets, of the same you will burn more calories than jogging for 2 hours.

Swimming:
Swimming can build extreme cardiovascular endurance without any wear or tear on your joints. Keep that in mind.

Rest: This is what my understanding is. When you work out a certain muscle group, after a certain point, oxygen in the muscle is exhausted, thats when malic acid formation in muscle begins and that causes the feeling of fatigue. It takes 48 hours for our body to completely remove the malic acid and replenish the muscle with "oxygen debt". In the process your body understands that there is more need for certain mucles to grow in size to ensure lack of fatigue. BCAA's are very important in building stronger and bigger muscles. Hence ensure you rest every exercised muscle group to ensure full recovery.

Rewards:

For good discipline in workout and good results, ensure you reward your self with good food every once in a while... go to brazilian steak house or some kebab place when you do feel its ok to reward your body...

things to stay away from: any thing with MSG content (instant junk foods, frozen crap, cup noodles, packaged broth etc) Processed flour items, processed baked/frozen stuff. Junk food, burgers, pizzas, sodas.

O bhai you making me feel like a fat A55 with man boobs lazy good for nothing living on chips and pepsi- :undecided:-

No sir, I had no such intentions. To tell you the truth, I had really bad lifestyle and bad health. Both me and my gf were over weight. When I changed my habits, did my research, It positively affected my friends and family. My girlfriend joined similar health regime. Watching us many friends in our circles joined gyms, adapted our cooking habits. Even my father and uncle started working out after seeing my transformation. I feel it's my duty to help others if I can to build their health, because I had enormous support from my friends in the gym and the soccer club.

You guys tried?-

RESPECT !!!!!!

M still too lazy- :pop:-

Dayum. I was waiting on you to pull an e-thug on us like;

Yeah....I kinda lose count after 800....

Then I would've had the pleasure of posting your previous gems from the thread Smoker's joint;

Religion behind- Nationality behind- you guys should take care of the feelings and urges of your fellow smokers- its an unspoken universal rule- dont tempt them when you know they cant have a fag-:agree:-

Tell me a few things about your life style... May be we can work on a starting plan for working out and eating healthy.... Usually trying to follow some body builders plan on some pro-website is very overwhelming.

What time do you wake up in the morning and what time you go to sleep.

Can you work out for 30 mins in the morning?

How many meals do you have in a day, how many cups of coffee, snack time.

Are you open to using protien shakes.

Do you have a gym membership, what time of the day do you think you can spare 1hr 45 mins for work out.

Pick five days in the week that you would like to work out.

5. Do you have a gym membership, what time of the day do you think you can spare 1hr 45 mins for work out.

6. Pick five days in the week that you would like to work out.

1. I sleep at 4:00 and wake up at 8:30.
2. As soon as I wake up, I take a shower, have breakfast and either go running for half an hour, or take my dog for a walk for one hour.
3. I eat only once after breakfast. Mostly at 18:30.
4. I am open to anything!
5. No time mate. Mostly in meetings all day long. Either with staff or with clients.
6. Hmmmmmmm..... you suggest.

I do swim a lot at home, but that is only during summers as the pool is not heated. In winters I use the sauna instead. Maybe twice a week.

I used to smoke like hell, now I have reduced it drastically to half a pack. Don't drink at all, only if the circumstances require me to, actually that is not entirely true, during summers I do have an occasional beer in the afternoon. Cofee, don't even ask, maybe 10 - 15 cups a day, every possible kind!

200 in one set? you sure??? :what:
Can be done...like I said...used to do between 5 and 6 hundred daily...first set 100. BUT I did them every day...swam in ocean and biked...and was fresh from the Army. (and lived in Huntington Beach...it's practicaly illegal to be fat there)

I dont know about push-ups, but I bench 3 sets with 10 reps, 45lb bar + 45lb on each side (total of 135 lbs). Although, unlike the oldies here, I am at the young tender age of 22 :P

When I started out 2 years ago, I used to be a skinny lanky kid, with just bones and no muscle, and I used to just be able to lift the bar (45lbs). It would be pretty embarassing in the gym to lift so little back in the day

Let me count. 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50. Done. 50 in one set.

Lol, was very lanky when young...at 280...seems soooo long ago. (I am 6' 3''so I wear it well enough...but would like to get back to 220...which looks ideal on me)
