How many days a week you eat meat?

The op is motivated by religious bigotry so, this manifestatio of liberally enlightened sympathy for living beings is nothing short of an excuse, which in all probability will mess up the ecological balance

Nah man I think he's just curious. If we stopped eating living things, where does it end? Everything is alive at some level and some time.

Not even in the least bit...I hail from telangana which is the highest consumer of meat in entire india with only 1 percent of its people being vegetarians.
If I was motivated by religious bigotry I would ask something about beef and i wouldnt tell that I myself eat meat twice weekly.
In almost all south Indian states we have these native gods and goddesses (who are tribal gods we used to worship before the advent of brahmanical gods) to whom we sacrifice animals like hens and sheep.
Watch about telangana bonalu (secunderabad)on youtube...crores of animals (mostly hens since they are cheaper)are sacrificed in the month called ashadam here to local deities called pochamma ,ellamma and maisamma.

Daily.

Mostly 2 times a day, unless it's weekend and we plan to eat nihari or kabab in breakfast.

I dont know how much a kg of mutton costs in pak but here in india it is very expensive...in telangana it is around 650 rs per kg(around 9 USD)...many families cant afford to eat it even once a month. Even the richest of the families eat it 4 or 5 times a month.
very expensive in Pak too...it is more than 10$/kg.. but you have to ration out. We buy in bulk and made 1/2 kg packets. One packet+lentil or vegi.. =2 times meal for the family of 7..

I read a lot here about pakistanis love for meat..thats why asking this question...how many days a week you eat meat...and are there any vegetarians over there...does everyone love meat?
I eat two days a week..

There might be a few vegetarians, but vegetarianism is not part of our culture. How much people eat meat is linked to their geography and their economic conditions.

Geography - Today Pakistan is commercialised like everywhere else but up until recent history meat wasn't industrialised, there were no large slaughter houses and commericial supply chains. Our grandparents would have eaten what was available locally. In places where the geography supported agriculture there was an abundance of vegetables and pulses, whereas in the mountains or semi arid regions, people were more likely to have large amounts of livestock. Hence why in some parts of KPK meat is more part of the diet than in Punjab, or why Fish is more popular amongst populations who live nearer rivers and the sea. This contributes towards the food culture.

Economic status - Again historically people would have eaten in a sustainable manner, obesity and diabetes was not an issue 100 years ago, famine was. The dishes we eat regularly today were often created in the Mughal courts or the circles of the elite and slowly as the condition of people improved so did the richness of their palette. Even today there are people who can only afford meat once a week or month, some who rely on the hand outs on Eid for their fix of meat. For the vast majority of people though, i think it's a regular part of the diet.

-------

Personally i eat meat at least 5 times a week. I try to have 1 daal day and 1 sabzi day, so that my kids can enjoy the variety of our dishes, otherwise we will lose that part of our culture. Breakfast is typically eggs, bread, or cereal. Lunch is often veggie too, as i tend to have sandwiches in the office (sometimes tuna but usually cheese and salad), but evening meals tend to have some meat in them.

I though there wont be any pigs in pakistan as it is a predominantly muslim country...of course there maybe a few christians who consume it

Our pigs are highly revered. We've put many of them in parliament... :woot:

Muslims don't eat pork, I'm not sure about Christian Pakistani's. Boars are found in the wild though in AJK/North Pakistan (idk about elsewhere). People tend to hunt them for sport.

I used to eat meat 3 times a day 7 days a week.
But now I have reduced to once a week.
I am a foodie, I like meat, vegetables, fruits, actually everything.

What do you eat rice with generally? Do you have things like curries as we indians do..like chicken curry, mutton curry, tomato curry potato curry etc.

Yup I think West Sumatran food has similarity with curry, I am West Sumatran ethnic, people call as as Padang people, as we call us as Minang people.

Here is Padang food, the most successful food in Indonesia since Padang/Minang restaurants are every where in Indonesia. There are two near my house in Jakarta, they can be reached by walking.

At home, usually I eat simple food like eggs omelet I made by myself or tofu (tahu in Indonesian). Tofu (vegetarian) just cooked by vegetable oil and ready to serve. I love eating tofu with rice and chilly.
