How Bangladeshis view Pakistanis today?

some of the "unfair treatment" were a result of some Bengali politicians' own Indian-backed ethnocentric politics. and some "unfair treatment" were a result of some Bengali politicians' smoking on some potent stuff supplied by India

Yes off-course it's the fault of India and Bengalis that East Pakistanis were treated unfairly by their westerner countrymen.

Stockholm syndrome anyone?

Lets try this, Guess Who Said the following:

"Kill three million of them (Bangladeshis) and the rest will eat out of our hands."

I am sure the gentleman who said the above wasn't smoking anything Indian....neither were the others who were proposing changing the racial makeup of East Pakistan, (not sure how your ancestors would agree to that, but that's your argument). But then again I am sure Bengali politicians caused it all.... and the Pakistani Generals were righ to do what they did, as you put it.

1. Simple question, If Islam as a religious entity was enough to make a separate nation, why is it that more muslims are killed by muslims in muslims nations than in any part of the world. As far as Indian leadership is concerned, look what happened to the India and pakistan as nations, one broken in to two.... Although I am a big supporter of two nation system but not the bogus theory propunded for it. The bottom lime is AIML did not have the kahones to win elections and come to power with seperate electorate even in punjab in pre-partition, thus they wanted a nation for themselves, where they wouldn't be out classed by INC and like, hus comes Pakistan..... Btw did ideology floated by Bengali fathers envisage Operation Searchlight by any chance?

2. We dont need to fight people who are foaming at the mouth to kill their own people. Retrieving what glory now? are you revisiting the niazi corridor now?

Islam is not a "religious entity" when religion is considered by its meaning in the dictionary. Islam is a revolution, ever alive, ever active. Islam is a reformist movement ever reforming peoples and societies. What you see as "Muslims are killed by Muslims" is partly that and partly the work of those who are conducting WW III by infiltration into various organs of Muslim societies.

Ha ha ha, you are funny !!!!! Go drink a cup of coffee..

You claimed it, so tell me, how does the Indian (read Hindu) food and Bangladeshi/Pakistan (read Muslim) food is similar? Taking into consideration that it is very rich in meat (beef, mutton, chicken).

Go on, enlighten us.
In Islamabad / Pindi...dhaka sweets are spreading like virus, If i've a chance to pass by again...i will snap a pic to share here....I think "Emaan Dhaka sweets" are some relative branch of old "DHAKA SWEETS" famous name....

If breaking away from India is justified breaking away from Pakistan also justified.
breaking away from West Pakistan may be justified*, but getting invaded by India and breaking away from Pakistan framework - which is the very reason Bangladesh/EP separated from India in 1947 - is not justified.

*although in 1970, East Pakistani populace did not even support breaking away from West Pakistan

yeah Purani Dhaka has rich food traditions have long history dating back to Mughal and Pathan sultanats. i wouldn't be surprised if Jahangirnagri sweets was only in Karachi, considering the connections, but i'm pleased that it is in Rawalpindi

the source of that phrase is not credible. but even if he said that, he was having support from majority of East Pakistan populace. we know Op Searchlight was necessary and could have been carried out far more effectively to have effectively sorted out the Indian agents trying to destabilize entire East Pakistan. yes some East Pakistanis were absorbed into the anti-West Pakistan politics, but would have stood squarely against any Indian invasion and changing of our national makeup. a lot of them were coerced into not being a "razakar".

India ravaged East Pakistan and changed the national makeup of a sovereign country.

You are right, Bangladesh has made a lot of progress over the last 10-15 years. I think our GDP is most likely around the $200bn figure now. Bangladesh breaking away from Pakistan, and forming its own nation, was the best thing that could have happened. However, all this will be wasted if we, as the current govt. seems to be doing, then allow India to have increasing influence. We must remain steadfast in our conviction to be the most developed South Asian country. We are only part way there.
sorry the reality suggests otherwise.

Bangladesh was already its own nation since 1947. in 1947 it kickstarted progress for the first time in 200 years of British discrimination and Hindu domination. what we have been witnessing since 1971 Indian takeover is steady regression back to the age of Hindu domination.

many bangladeshis still carry the chip on their shoulder from 1971 and have ill will against Pakistan , those who vote for Awami league even today fall in this category

are you sure you are bangladeshi, you are claiming populace pledging support to the great leader who proposed killing 3 million bengalis, to humiliate the rest of them....

According to my own experiences, Bangladeshi people are very warm towards us and only a small minority carries a dislike. But the dislike is in a competitive sense, not in an ethnic sense. Racially they carry no grudges, and as a matter of fact, they like us in that department. Their women at least; hey no offence(don't shoot the messenger).

From what I noticed, most South Asians-including Indian muslims and Nepalese, but not too sure about Sri Lankans- have a positive view about us Pakistanis despite a lot of negative stereotypes associated with us.

Now as for some Pakistanis, who have never usually met a Bangladeshi in life; they consider Bangladeshis as traitors without realizing many mistakes that west Pakistanis and our establishment made. We shoved our urdu agenda down their butthole expecting them to forget their own ancient language. This urdu agenda is still being shoved down all the non-urdu speaking Pakistanis' buttholes. Like I respect it as a lingua franca, but it literally makes my blood boil seeing some random Karachiwalas calling Lahoris "paindoo" when Lahoris use a punjabi word here or there. Like it's natural for other words to infuse in your language. In Islamabadi urdu, a lot of Potohari words have creeped in similarly but a lot of people with an urdu agenda expect us to forget our own, more purer, languages completely for a 200 year old dialect of hindi. Lol.

Also, we did not let them form government despite them winning a majority and we also started an ethnically motivated military operation against them. The west Pakistani establishment considered them inferior.

But it's still Punjabies who are accused of Punjabization

Even I was like what the f@ck did I just read after reading his post.
He is surely not a western bong.

I see resentment in your words than truth. If you have travelled in India(or pakistan), or met Indian/pakistanis (which am pretty sure you have), the similarity is obvious.

Dozens or perhaps hundreds of subcultures in one sub-continent in messy territory? It is not resentment.

.And dont try to fool us. Most Indian Hindus hate us but Pakistanis are polite in nature. Again we have many other countries to think.

There is a tendency of looking down upon Bangladesh for a variety of reasons on the part of Indians. It is often a matter of perception rather than facts.

If you want to do business with Indian concerns in India, it takes time; a lot of time. Their authorities treat the matter of Bangladesh the same way as Pakistan. And this came from an Indian associate of mine who happened to be frank on the matter. And that was 2 years ago.

Their intelligence and security agencies aren't technically sound in what they say and do, and that leads to very complicated dramas even in light of Hasina working hard to clamp down on terrorist cells. Even if there may be improvements under Modi in that regard, what happened in the past have long-term consequences that one simply has to live with.

This is true. Most of Indians put aside Hindus, even Muslims are ignorant about BD people mentality and development. They just think we are backward people, deprived of basic needs. No roads, buildings, only illiteracy and poverty. They think we are a failed country. And you can see anywhere online they just spew hatred for Bangladeshi. Even the word 'Bangladeshi' is used as a slang. I read a comment when two Assam Bengali Muslims killed by Bodos. One Bodo was saying in enjoyment "Ït isnt human we killed its Bangladeshi and we will keep on killing". When a Bangladeshi is killed by BSF you will just see just their enjoyment. And these people are our neighbors  This is my experience with Indians.

What is the reason: We are well aware of India through their TV channels and online but nothing of ours allowed there.
