My young brother,

Why...say.. are you surprised?

As I have said many times before, your great country is Pivotal State of global significance in the context of Eurasia.

After going through this thread...there seems confusion about what is Rus going to get out of such a deal?

Answer: Everything.

Certain things remain behind closed doors!

What matters is the fact that on the Grand Game of Go Russia just secured itself a great real estate! Now russia has finally become a Three Ocean Power.

And the beauty is that the one who was not in the room is the Grand Architect of this 'deal'.

Yes, you guessed right. It is the Dragon. Win-Win-Win Paradigm in action.

Soon you shall see Iran and Turkey being fully onboard.

With these two coming onboard the Eurasia is sealed from global empire = {SCO+OBOR+EEU} X CPEC

Many things are not suited for this or such fora.

@Kaptaan young man, your dream of accelerating the positive influence from outside is given more facets. Rus science has a very different perspective and quality to it. Also, the Rus music, culture and Thought is rather close to Passionate heart of your Pak... just scratch the surface...

@PaklovesTurkiye my young brother... what this Sino-Pak-Rus Axis means is that foreign sponsored terror is going back to its creators in due time.

As I have said many times before... from Srinagar to Istambul, From Karachi to St. Petersberg, From Islamabad to Shanghai...

This is how you create Harmony under the Heavens.

Please, do not get ahead of yourselves and start spitting towards heavens.. keep humility, forebearance and stillness. Keep Virtue.

You have lost decades and about two generations in lost development and progress.

It will take at least 2 decades of breakneck, well planned and honestly executed economic and social growth to just get on the right path.

Also, expect more foreign sponsored terror coming. The Great Game is Just Starting!

Long live the Land of 100000 years, the Great Horse Dances!!!!!

I am not sure how useful Gwadar is for Russia despite hearing about the news of warm water one of the key cause for Russia's intervention into Afghanistan.

Russia is too far from Pakistan and there are only few states of Russia which can really benefit from Gwadar. They are welcome to invest in Pakistan and be part of CPEC however the trade route of CPEC is economically not viable for Russia. They would have imported oil from middle east but they already have it in abundance so what exactly are they going to transport from Gwadar... not very much if nothing
WRONG.. A railway line can make it feasible, there exist a plan to link gwadar with Gilit via railway.. And it will go al the way to kasghar from where it can be extended to Russia..

Agreed. Which is why Pakistan's relationship until recent time was strictly business. Go find out how many of Pakistan's elite moved to China to live there? Now compare all the Pakistani's in USA. You really think Pakistan could have kept the West if she had joined the Russian camp? Not a chance in hell. You think our sardars, maulanas would have bought houses or sent their kids to Moscow in 1960s or 1950s?

The Chinese embrace was not at the expense of the West. Indeed Pakistan/China/USA got together against Soviet Russia. In short in 1960s you either would go West~China or Soviet Russia. You would not have both of them.

That famous approach by Nixon's America with China and Pakistan in middle was against Russia. How exactly would you have played the Chinese and then kept Soviet Russia?

In short our elite lived/dined/sent their young to the West (many others like me and millions of othes including many members here migrated to the West under this umbrella) but kept a very strict business like dealing with China. Contact was limited to top officials.

Now things are about to change. China/Pak relationship is going mult-idimentional. Gwadar is about to open both countries and we will see how both get on. Somebody is going to have to adjust and I know who that is going to be.

That's what happens.

But, when we check what the west have done at all times, maybe they are not so polite and pure any more.

Or we can say, even trying very hard to get close to America and Britain, do they care about that?
I am afraid they have shown their real thoughts very clearly.

By the way, from the elites' chosen to identify the correct direction, this may lead to unexpected result.
If an elite doesn't like to go back to serve his homeland, where is his value? is he his mother's son?

Here, I feel very strong patriotism.
On the contrast, when talking with an Pak elite in financial field, I can't get the same feeling.

Yes, of course. I look at China and Russia not in respect of Su-35s or miles of motorway built. These are tangibles and superficial. More profound is the culture of change that they will bring. Pakistan has been shaped by America in the preceding 50 years. Most of the time this meant doleouts to keep the elite happy, cultivating the right wing religious mullahdom to offset the threat from the left leaning socialists. Now these reactionery forces have gone out of control and America after having got it's job done has walked away.

I am confident Gwadar and CPEC will usher in Chinese influece and the right wing mullahdom is going to get muzzled. Chinese and rampant religiousity are nemesis and cannot subsist together. That is why I watch on the Chinese dawn in Pakistan in amusement. Interesting times. Out of this will come a new Pakistan where people like me can be comfortable with.

It's good to be cautious.
But if it is too easy to draw a conclusion from a complicated situation, it also means cost on time and tax.

This is not a good example.
But, if there is no Russian base, it would be very hard for Syria to fight so many enemies from all around.

Pakistan is finally becoming...a Stan!

Eurasia is the natural place for Pak for thousands of years. The disconnect was because of the sellout elites... Pak is going back to the place it belongs.

This is good thing.

Its not about trade I believe. Their naval base in Syria is also next to useless in economic terms, yet they are fighting Asad's war for it.

A tunnel at wakhan corridor from Tajikistan to Pakistan under afghanistan will keep afghanistan in the dark ages for ever. i support tunneling at the narrowest point of Wakhan corridor as the hostile and pro indian policies of afghanistan are about to descend that country further into chaos which will affect all forms of access. Tunneling can by pass all of this.

A tunnel passing under Afghan territory is technically still a border crossing and subject to Afghan immigration rules..
