There's a difference.
In secret Santa you don't know the person who drops you the gift, while in our case we usually reveal the names.
This time it's my boss who is supposed to bring me a gift. And I heard he's hasn't decided on my gift as of yet. Lolz

My boss is parsimonious.

I do not like this gifting ritual associated with festivals- most of the time gifts are predictable.
Gifts should come as a surprise and at times for no reason at all- that's what I prefer.
