Hang Tiger Memon, not Yakub: Salman Khan

Actor Salman Khan took to micro-blogging site Twitter to oppose the death penalty of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.

In a series of tweets, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star lashed out at Yakub's absconding brother, Tiger Memon, one of the prime suspects in the 1993 blasts case. Salman said that it was unfair for Yakub to be hanged while his brother was one of the major suspects. Taking a jibe at Tiger, he said "Bhai ho toh aisa" (You should have a brother like Tiger).

Salman further said that to kill one innocent man is to kill humanity.

Though I agree that he should not be hanged, it is with out doubt that Yakub is not innocent

Even to some extent....i agree with him that he should not be hanged...he is not a prime suspect..I mean judge can give some jain term...But again, to say that he is innocent, it is too much of playing victim card...As usual...Indian minorities tend to play their card some times...

Yesterday I saw one report on Zee News called "Pacchis Kadam aur Yakub Khatam", which was to show how he will be hanged after few days. I was horribly disgusted to see such pathetic attitude of a national media. Yakub may deserve a death sentence, may be not but the way a part of the media is celebrating his hanging looks ugly and shows how severely they lack a minimum sense of decency in general (the Earth quake reporting in Nepal is another example).
