Pakistan bans 'Tiger Zinda Hai' over 'demeaning' content

Indians have been very successfull in vilifying Pakistan, it's people and army through Bollywood. These past two decades s dozens of films have been released showing exaggerated films of war and victory over Pakistan. Indians have used the same strategy as the Americans have done vilifying Arabs and Muslims through Holywood.

You just described the movie industry of any country with a decent movie industry.

1) Pakistani ppl know that Indians stoop to low levels and show Pak in a bad light in their propaganda. It's nothing new...such idiotic behavior is expected. Pakistanis don't lose their sleep over it.

2) Pakistani government on the other hand is taking a stand against the movie bcuz that's its duty. No country would accept such idiotic behavior.

Do u get it now? Even though the ppl don't give a shit about what Indians have to say...the government still has to do its part bcuz it's the principal of the matter.

I got no problem with your second point. We're on the same page there.
My problem is IF Pakistani people know about us 'stooping to a low level' and IF that is 'expected', why do they still watch it? Your fellow countrymen attest to its popularity in your country in this thread and say that people will pirate it if the government bans a movie.
So KNOWING that it's anti Pakistan propaganda, KNOWING that this is what we do, and KNOWING that the government banned it, why still watch it?
The only reason I can think of is that people just like to watch movies and Bollywood is more relatable and available to them, regardless of what the government does.

Stop with all the fake bs please. People love Bollywood movies here. After India, Pakistan is where they make the most money. Some even do better than our own productions. After all Bollywood and Hollywood productions were all that used to be in cinemas pre 2007 when our own movie industry rebooted.

Of course Bollywood should stop using this cheap ideas of constantly trying to put us down through their movies. But at the same time its a f***ing movie. Watch it and go home its entertainment ffs.

I know I was just giving him an example about how a government's decision can be a separate thing from what ppl choose to do. I'm not comparing drug use with watching a movie.

I thought Waar was against the Taliban. If so then it should not have been banned.

From the trailer, Tiger Zinda Hai seems to have a collaboration between an Indian agent ( Salman ) and a Pakistani agent ( Katrina ) working against an ISIS-type group. So there is no reason it should have been banned in Pakistan.

The reason for the ban is vague :

Sulaiman S. Lalani, Executive Director, Geo TV Network, told IANS from Karachi that their preferred option was that "Tiger Zinda Hai" should have been allowed for import, presented to the censor board, and if any objectionable material was found against the interests of Pakistan/Islam, the exhibition of the film shouldn't have been allowed then.

How can the film be anti-Islam when the writer/director and the two leads are Muslim??
