Cool stuff. The Indian Air Force quite literally wrote the book on flying the Su-30 in combat (thanks to TACDE), I'd love to see the BAF try their hand against the IAF in identical machines.

The Jf-17's are to replace the 25+ F-7's we have in service and the 25+ we have in storage. Which is fine. As crappy as the JF-17 is, it's better than F-7's.

The 29's are getting upgraded to SMT and none of your 8 29's are SMT.

Also, we're getting the nifty Yak-130 trainers.

People say it will be the Su-30. That will be the first dual cockpit fighter our pilots/technicians will see. And for essential repairs and spares we will need to turn to SHW's bosom friend India. Russians will always act too preoccupied. Having same inventory as India's seem to be policy of the current rulers.

By the time these aircraft are delivered, BAC will have the overhauling capabilities required for Su-30 I guess...

It will be just the usual tiny insignificant purchase. How much can you really buy that matters when the military budget is only about 2 billion a year to begin with?

I would assume 1 squadron of Mig 29 UPG or Mig 35 will be most likely.

Max pressure should be put on SHW to not go for a Chinese platform.

Turn B'desh AF more and more russian-based over time since Russia is a good friend of India.

Watch them buy something Russian to fly instead.

You can maybe sell a few rusty boats to the coastguard that they claim is a navy. Just don't forget to send some WD-40 this time and teach them how to use it.

Even Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and we cooperate with regards to Su-30 fleets.

If you are indeed buying Su-30BDs then welcome to the club.

If larger, get SUs.
As for attack helicopters, how is Chinese WZ-10?

Why are you arming with gunships suddenly? Counter insurgency problems?

I think their budget is closer to around 2 billion now. But your point still applies.

That guy is a well known dreamer, dont take him seriously. He also thinks one squadron of Su-30s in BAF can defeat the entire Indian Air Force because Bangladesh pilots are that good (and Indians that bad).

The defence budget is 2.3 billion dollars but does NOT include arms purchases which come to around 1 billion dollars a year on average.

The budget is rising in line with GDP growth that is currently at 7% a year and so there is plenty of money for multi-billion dollar purchases since both Russia and China will accept payment spread over many years.

Uhm, even the basic Yak-130 trainer can haul a symmetric or asymmetric weapon load, weighing up to 3,000 kg (6,600 lb), consisting of various guided and un-guided weapons, auxiliary fuel tanks and electronics pods, and carried on 9 hardpoints: 1 on each wingtip, 3 under each wing, and 1 under the fuselage.
