Govt. to buy warplanes: Syed Ashraf

The government has a plan to procure warplanes for updating Bangladesh Air Force to make it time befitting.

Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, who is also in-charge of defence ministry in the Jatiya Sangsad, disclosed this while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Abdullah in the House on Sunday.

Exactly I am quite sure for that since Tejas proved his metal in India and inducted in large numbers for sure Tejas will be the great choice.

But yeah Tejas needs few years to fulfill 120 planes, and another 140 in Mk2 config for IAF first.

Most likely the new generation MiG 29's.

i.e probably a variant/derivative of the MiG 29K(non-navalized ofcourse). Fantastic jets.

The MiG 29SMT/M's formed the bedrock on which MiG 29K's were derived from. They are more advanced than the MiG 29SMT's.

The old generation MiG 29's can be upgraded to the M/SMT standard, but not to the K standard because that involves structural changes.

BD needs at least 32 latest version of Mig29s to face MM. If they will go to Russia for MRCAs they will subsequently place an order to China as well. In that case J10 is the best bait probably? If there is skirmish between India BD those migs wont be useful and Chinese versions will be the only option which will be in small number. So in that case BD needs to strengthen its SAM network system. Also SSM,UAV etc.

Russians will always act too preoccupied. Having same inventory as India's seem to be policy of the current rulers.
