I actually think its normal and rational for them to do so. As I said I look at things from rational geo political perspective, that way we can be more rational in our observation. Iran does what's in their national interests and to advance their influence and interests in the region.

Iran has been paying very heavy price for supporting Palestinians; with Iran's human and natural resources and relative distance from the 'Holy Land', Iran could have been the second most powerful and rich nation in the Middle East, behind Israel.

In general, you are right but I don't think humanity has sunk that low. Why are countries, in defiance of a Superpower, cutting ties or openly bashing Israel over this conflict? Ireland, South Africa, Columbia... different ethnicities, different continents, and even different religions??

But the situation was not like that. First of all,Greeks had a bigger space to live. They had mountains and forests to hide. They had a huge merchant fleet that was converted to a war fleet for the revolution. And back then there weren't drones and aircraft to bomb the heck out of everything. The problem is that Palestinians are confined in a flat space,isolated from the world and bombed from ground,air and sea. They have little money and equipment and most of the world only supports them in words. Also,while the strongest countries in the world back in the early 19th century wanted to weaken the Ottoman Empire,the strongest countries of the world want to actually strengthen Israel now. Except Russia and China who do nothing.
