Hamas killed and kidnapped hundreds of innocent civilians - not just Israelis, but also citizens of at least the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, China, Mexico, Thailand, Nepal ( the list will grow as more victims are identified). No one will come forward to help them. Unfortunately, the civilians will bear the collateral damage. It might have been a great tactical strike against Israel, but is a huge strategic blunder.

All it means is Iran backs them. Meaning is in solidarity with them and supports them. It does not they took part in the operation or planned it. They help with some equipment and tactics.

Hezbollah needs to get involved in a big way and not let this opportunity lost. I don't know why you talk like Gaza is okay on its own. It's not and can't sustain this much more. And shouldn't have to bear brute of whole Israeli fire power alone over and over again.

I'm not saying Iran should get involved as a country. They shouldn't. Hezbollah and factions in Iraq/Syria , however, should.

Perhaps Hezbollah and other groups are being held in reserve to allow them to move up the escalation ladder if need be or when most effective. War is not all kinetic, a lot is political. If Iran did plan all this or at least help coordinate it in a meeting in Lebanon, it may be a calculated decision.
