What's new

From May 1st, 59 nationals can enter China's Hainan for travel without visas for 30 days

. .
The female poster also couldn't have determined the national origin of those people.

We don't know the exact nationality but we can be pretty sure they are from India or BD. Because they are our main source of labor for construction jobs, and only they (for males) congregate in large numbers during weekend.

I have witnessed this first hand too. People here in Canada complaining how Asians are culprit for raising real estate prices while conveniently ignoring extremely low interest rates for about a decade now.

There are some truth in stereotypes. Wealthy Asians speculating the property market in Canada is definitely one of the factors, but not the sole factor.

So what you are saying is that you have read a rumor in some forum etc. The female poster also couldn't have determined the national origin of those people. There is a reason why facts are so hard to determine. Because you to have separate facts from your own bias.

I have witnessed this first hand too. People here in Canada complaining how Asians are culprit for raising real estate prices while conveniently ignoring extremely low interest rates for about a decade now. As I said, its very easy to conform to an existing stereotype.
culprit?Only loser accuses the succes of the rich people!
I guess in your eyes, everyone include Jack MA or Yao Ming,Jet LEE are criminals coz they are richer than you and they can pay much more than you!
Canada want more foreigner investments but does not want foreigners themselves!
Better leave all the money to canadians and to native canadians only!

Typical loser talk!

Hainan is more of a tourism/retirement destination isn't it? Especially from Dongbei China where it gets bitterly cold in winter.
Yup, it is the sort of like China's Hawaii and Florida, though it is still very much a work in progress. It still has many opportunities for development, many good business opportunities, not just more of the same old things but greater diversity in recreation and services.

People from Dongbei love Hainan, a taste of China's tropics. Yah, the winters can get bitterly cold due to Siberian winds, though those who live there are accustomed to it, there are ice cream vendors in the winter and some like to swim in lakes among many other fun winter activities. It really isn't that bad if you are used to it and wear warm clothing, its always cosy indoors. The only big downside is the short daylight duration during the winter.

There is surplus capital in the banking system due to all the baby boomer and the silent generation's savings, pushing interest rates down. It's the same trend in most of the developed world.

Interesting part is that Asian have been living and thriving in Canada for quite sometime while the asset bubble is more of a post 2008 phenomenon here. Most of the real studies have found low interest rate, extremely low supply of land and housing in some markets like Vancouver and influx of foreign capital to be reasons... in that order. But the word on the street is always Asians parking their dirty money in Canada. Interestingly, even when the government introduced a tax on foreign purchase of real estate the prices still kept on going up. Only recently when stricter norms of lending and news of increasing interest rate came out, the prices have started to level and in some places even fall. But then, rumor still says that Asian are making it impossible for locals to buy the houses. Well, its always easy to blame a stereotype.

Thats what I always a bit skeptical about. Reality is seldom so much cut and dry. For all you know these folks could have been a mixed bunch of laborers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, BD and elsewhere. Enjoying their weekend but making it hell for rest, especially women. May be defining chareterstic of these rowdies was being a low-paid, uneducated migrant worker and not exactly nationality. Again, I don't know who they were.

These videos are pretty funny. The cold can make for some absurd situations if mistakes were made and fun times if you apply some creative thinking. Exposed pipes for example can explode/rupture if they are not properly drained. People who live in colder climates adapt by eating a more energy heavy diet, your body will feel warm after eating a hearty meal.

The most "authentic" NE experience would be in the countryside as most urban areas have too much climate and environment control.

Yup, from Dongbei.

When you forget to close your faucets before you leave for a trip.

Building igloos look fun

I welcome Pakistani people visiting Hainan, most of them are elegant and self-discipline.

It is very unfortunate that your government is not well coming them and that is why Pakistan is missing in the list.
