What's new

From May 1st, 59 nationals can enter China's Hainan for travel without visas for 30 days

We have this incident some time back. A bunch of workers from India/Bangladesh were gawking at girls (white tourists) on our beach. I read that some of them have not seen girls wearing shorts/sleeveless in public before coming here.

Interesting! Did you care to read the article? Or search 'India' in the article?

. .
You mean to say all these workers are from Bangladesh and none are from India?
I don't know where they are from. BD/Sri Lanka/Latin America/Pakistan/India/Nigeria. I don't know. The article does not even mention India. I am curious to know how you came to that conclusion that they are associated with India?

.
Hainan's development had been recent and can offer great growth in the future as a vacation/recreation hub of China.

Hainan is more of a tourism/retirement destination isn't it? Especially from Dongbei China where it gets bitterly cold in winter.

I am curious to know how you came to that conclusion?

I'm a local so I'm familiar with what's going on. These migrant workers are mostly from India and BD.

Continue your denial mode.

I honestly hope they give Visa free entry for Pakistanis ASAP. Would like to sit and watch the fun then. For heavens sake don't give it to us. As someone mentioned most Indians are uncultured and do not know how to behave in public. There should be a etiquette test and a IQ test for every Indian who is applying to visit foreign countries. Pissed off to see these morons coming in 1000s to Thailand and other SE Asia and spoiling our name.

Well, I am local from Canada and I can also claim to know that Chinese and Singaporean here are mostly criminals running from their native countries and washing their dirty money in Canadian real estate. BTW, thats the popular stereotype here. Will it make it a fact? I don't think so.

I am still curious btw, how did you ended up posting an article without even reading it. Just based on picture, eh?

The problem is they not only gawk at the girls, they also whistle incessantly.
They can just have a look and stay silent?

Anyone who does that deserve to be punished for sexual harassment. At-least this is how it works here.

I don't see India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Iran names here.
Am i missing something here ?
This is the second-phase list, and the list of countries in the third phase will continue to be announced according to the situation.

Not classy/rich enough in the CCP’s eyes.

Hainan is good enough to be a world class beachy destination. This is an added bonus. But will it be enough to pull in the hoards of North American beach goers? I think not. It needs to be more ‘Authentic Chinese’ in my opinion.
Should work for the Europeans tho.
It is undeniable that most countries are richer countries.
But Do you think Albania, Thailand, and the Philippines listed above are rich enough they have lower GDP per capita than China's?

As I said:This is the second-phase list, and the list of countries in the third phase will continue to be announced according to the situation.

As far as I know, India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Iran as well as BD do not grant visa-free to the Chinese people.

As far as the current stage is concerned, most of the countries Hainan Province facing are still Southeast Asian countries, except for some wealthy countries of EU.

Without reading it? I even read the original post on Stomp uploaded by a female who witnessed that very incident, which has been deleted because it's an old post from 2011. Of course the mainstream media which I cited won't quote any nationality because of political correctness, but all Singaporeans know these workers are mainly from India/BD.

But of course since they didn't show their passport in the photo, we have no definite proof. If that's what you're arguing, then I concede the argument and you can continue your denial mode.

Pakistan grant PRC citizens 30 days visa-free since January this year.

. .
So I will be allowed free entry to Hinan on my British passport but?
I can travel to many other nearer countries on same terms, so why should I chose China ?
On the other hand on my Pakistani passport I would like to go visit China as it's right next doors. But getting a Chinese visa on Pakistani passport is as difficult as getting east European visas.
So thanks but no thanks.

So what you are saying is that you have read a rumor in some forum etc. The female poster also couldn't have determined the national origin of those people. There is a reason why facts are so hard to determine. Because you to have separate facts from your own bias.

I have witnessed this first hand too. People here in Canada complaining how Asians are culprit for raising real estate prices while conveniently ignoring extremely low interest rates for about a decade now. As I said, its very easy to conform to an existing stereotype.
