France invoked article 42.7 of the Lisbon treaty

Mr Hollande said France will invoke article 42.7 of the Lisbon Treaty, the solidarity clause obliging other member states to come to his country’s help by “all means in their power”. It would be beyond parody for Brussels to continue insisting on budget rules in such a political context.

Some minutes ago,in the name of France,JYLD decided to invoke the article 42.7 of the Lisbon treaty.

As I have said before it is not about good or bad terrorists but priorities. Going after the TTP and LeJ should be our primary concern and we should not even touch LET HuM Huji and others until we have completely and totally destroyed the Taliban network.

The idea is simple take action against those that are attacking you first and then deal with others. LeT is very anti hindu and it should be dismantled, but not before Taliban are destroyed.

The Lisbon treaty is about EU members.EU members are not obliged to help everyone out there but they have to help other EU members by treaty.

Not that a treaty should make a EU member help another one after a tragedy like Paris,it is also a moral duty.

It all comes down to the ground operation against ISIS.....

Well Pakistan do not count actually because it is about European Union (Eurozone) or the NATO states that have defense treaties, we were never part of that and so quoting our self as example here is inappropriate.

However, the thing about Turkey or the Eastern European states in general as mentioned by @Umair Nawaz do count!
