No dear, those were F-6s which were retired in 2002.after 35 years of service. A-5 was inducted in 1982.

Just got the news that after some 20 years of service in three PAF Squadrons, the A-5 Fantan was officially retired from the today.

- In service from 1983 until March 2011 (27.3 years)

- Note: Delivered from 1983 onwards. The type was gradually withdrawn from service commencing in 2009/2010 as its replacement, the JF-17 Thunder, entered service in greater numbers. The last operational A-5C Fantans were officially retired from service on 18th March 2011.

My bad, between working and posting, I muddled up the figures.

Just got the news that after some 20 years of service in three PAF Squadrons, the A-5 Fantan was officially retired from the service today.

I think they were inducted circa 82/83, that should make it about 28 years of service.
