Famous Indian guru "Sadhguru" Jaggi Vasudev dispersing "knowledge" about the ancient world

These preachers can be summed up in this video
Fleecing money from people with tons and tons of bs
And the idiots will eat it up like no tomorrow (middle class mostly - for poor folks they don't need to spin stuff- they'll believe anything and everything)

The best comedy is one where:
  1. The performer keeps a straight face
  2. Carries full conviction
  3. Does not make it look like he is delivering a comic performance
This checks all the boxes.

Almost all such performances, by the religious freaks, of different faiths, qualify the aforesaid criteria. :p:

This guy sounds less like a religious person and more like a grandpa who missed the startup gravy train and is trying one last pitch to a venture capitalist.

Why are you interested in the rants of this "Fraudia Baba"?
Not all of what he says is fraud. Though I won't credit him for originality. Whatever he says has been said by many before him, either as speakers or writers. A lot of us commoners also know these things, even if we don't implement them in our lives. The Atlantis / Hindu temples in Europe and all such stuff is cringe. I wish he would stick to recycling old philosophies.

I am not. I just wanted to be fair to @Suriya. :) Good that you asked me because I will now tell him prove that he's not an idiot, a fraud and a charlatan. These two things were proved in the two vids in the OP. It's now up to Suriya to prove this baba is not.

If he really had a philosophy for the betterment of human society - politically and socio-economically - since he lives in modern times he would have quoted modern philosophers and revolutionaries like Marx, Gaddafi, Noam Chomsky, Andre Vitchek, Che, Faiz from India's neighborhood and so on. Sincerely he speaks just trash. You are right that a lot of his pronouncements are cringe but it is unfortunate that he has seen great growth in followership among Indians in the recent years. You may also know that in 2017 he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest award for civilians. Unfortunate.

Being a guru in the 21st Century is like being an independent business consultant / LinkedIn influencer type. One has to play it strategically. The lighter stuff like recycled philosophy brings in the religio-neutral audience. The Atlantis type fantasies bring in the supremacist kind or even the curious type who is wondering what is this shit all about. Its all about building your portfolio.

Of course there could be specialists who are rabidly communal and have a limited but fiercely loyal audience. Those are niche players. There is room for everybody.
