By the what is meant by a Division sized Marines I mean how many soldiers ??? Also Brigade of SSGN what that means ???

He said "Division plus" as far as i heard him. That's around 7000-8000 combat troops, and if support arms are included then 3000-4000 troops more. It depends now if Navy follows Army structure of an Infantry Division or has a lesser headcount in each formation.

Brigade of SSG (N) means 3 x Battalions or roughly 12 x Company's (just like Zarrar is one Company of SSG). This would help in introducing more teams for roles of BEL Ops, underwater Ops, AT Ops like Zarrar ATU, VBSS, NIO, CQB, Air Assault Ops, Protection etc.

Three Naval bases have major deployments in future : Karachi, Ormara, Gwadar. So it can be expected that SSG(N) could have unit sized HQ's in each of these bases thus three battalions.

@Signalian This is a complete shot in the dark but how reasonable of an idea is to "paint" a target with radar (let's say with a super focued beam from a powerful AESA radar on a jet from standoff range - lets say 200km) for a hypothetical anti-ship ballistic missile warhead armed with a radar seeker? Or is this completely impractical?

Its not impractical. 200 Km is a long range. Detection could be possible but tracking and targeting i can't say with certainty.

Division-size means that the Marines will be expanded to anywhere between 10000-25000 troops from the current 3000-4000. Force protection, coastal security and air defence are some of the primary roles of the Marines and since the PN is expanding, these roles will multiply as well.
Brigade-size would mean 3-4 battalions. With increased presence of the Navy along the coast, it would become necessary to have SSG(N) presence in a wider geographic area to deal with terrorism threats.
Also, with the midget submarine program supposedly coming up in the future, manpower requirements will be required in that area a well.
All in all, the increase in the size of both the Marines and the SSG(N) is a reflection of the growth in the size of the Navy itself.

Isn't it bit earlier for those DDGs? For employing such 'power balance shifting' capability, PN is supposed to fill up its low tier surface vessels requirements first. Have we achieved that already? Or all plans will move parallel?

As far as the new heavier tonnage vessels are concerned @Tipu7 may not be correct in his analysis that the larger tonnage vessels may be heavier corvettes. The platform under discussion is a much much heavier beast unforeseen in capability that the region has seen. Let’s see if the new CNS has the same speed and capacity to Negotiate and conclude the offer that we have under discussion. Admiral Abassi was exceptional in this domain.

Personally I seriously doubt that Naval Chief will reveal all of its future plans. Therefore I think there are few other things on which work has begun but they were not mentioned. Those are Destroyers and Nuclear Submarine.

Also can any one tell the Ballistic Missile which we are developing will it be fired from Land or did Naval Chief said it would be fired from surface vessels ???

Yes the new AShBM will be able to be fired from surface ships, submarines and coastal missile units.

Multiple programs can run in parallel, sister services are helping, remember the sailors are custodians of our second strike capability.

Sure, I get that, but new helicopters would be a very big project, the fact it was nit mentioned in an otherwise comprehensive list indicates little progress is being made here. This should be a major concern. Very soon, maybe even in 2 years, we will have more ships than actual helicopters (Sea Kings being land based and too big).....

If we are going for Ships which have deck for helicopter and in case of bigger ships two helicopters than that automatically means we would be buying helicopters also. In my opinion it would be Leonardos helicopters.

Going by his own wording, he used the word 'follow-up' after mentioning the two Damen Yarmook class corvettes and mentioned that this order would be of 'higher tonnage' and the process is 'being contracted'.

This logically speaking, points to a heavier (and 8m longer) version of corvette from Damen Shipyard most probably a 2600 tonne variant, But I dont think that the outing CNS was pointing towards the Type 52D or Type 55 for that matter.

An 8m lengthened Yarmook class (Damen OPV 2600) makes most sense as the extra length could be used to incorporate a new VLS or having additional tubes in the existing VLS while retaining most of the other systems and subsystems, thus adding to standardization and cost effectiveness. We would probably get a base unequipped version as the case with first 2 Yarmook class ships and get it equipped with different systems we could get our hands on. Additionally, 6 lengthened Yarmook class ships could be evenly distributed with 2 such ships in each of the Task forces 1,2 and 3.

He didnt said that he is revealing all purchases or projects, he just highlighed some. It is but obvious that 20 of those 'big ships' that he mentioned would operate some helicopter from their deck. So i dont see anything to be worried here.
