Eurocopter AS565 Panther of Bangladesh Army Aviation..

BAA utilizes the 6 Mi-171SH in BAF inventory and also all the Helicopters in Bangladesh armed forces (UH-1N, Mi-171, AS-565) are armed. except for the Training and VIP helicopters.

these are mainly for transport purpose with attacking ability... He was asking about attack helicopters....

guys, by the way, does harbin have all these armament like the other AS565?
Guns: Giat M621 20 mm (0.787 in) cannon pods.
Rockets: 68 mm (2.677 in) or 70 mm (2.756 in) unguided rockets.
Missiles:
Matra Mistral air-to-air missiles.
AS 15 TT anti-surface missiles.
HOT anti-tank missiles.
Mk46 or Whitehead A.244/S anti-submarine warfare torpedoes.

Army introduces 2 copters


The Bangladesh Army has added two latest helicopters worth Tk 200 crore to its fleet, officials said.
Two Dauphin AS365 N3+ helicopters made by Eurocopter Group will be used for the UN peace keeping missions beside regular military use.

Lieutenant General Md Mainul Islam, the chief of general staff of army, on Wednesday said that the army aviation unit, which started with four Cessna 152 aircraft, now has two Dauphin helicopters.

The copters, made in France and assembled in Singapore, were yet to be commissioned, the officials said.
Brigadier General Abdullah Al Azhar, the commander of the ad hoc army aviation group, said that Dauphins would enhance their capability.

Mainul, meanwhile on Wednesday, praised the role of pilots trained by its aviation group while he was decorating newly graduated pilots with flying brevets.

Eight captains from the army and two lieutenants from the navy graduated as pilots after a 19 months’ training.
Mainul also inaugurated the office building for 801 Army Aviation Maintenance Regiment and UN Helicopter Training Complex, built at a cost of Tk 36 million

This suggests we are looking forward to one or two more of these choppers for the navy..
