Prior to that, China was united for majority of its history except during the changing of dynasties. The last time that China has more than 50 years of division was Southern Song. Prior to that, it was during the time of Mulan. And that was for less than 100 years. China was united most of the time in the last 2 thousand years that divided. Only divided roughly about 300 years of 2200 years. 1900 years of being united. India was more divided than being a united political entity.
