India would have damned us with Tipaimukhi Dam any way. We survived the Farakka dam we will some how manage with the new dams also. But now the question is, can the under developed NE india survive with out Bramaputra river?

Brahmaputra is known for causing huge floods every year. We will be relieved of the floods.

The only threat is if you BDeshis illegally immigrate to escape BD like you have been and change demographics of NE.

But even that will only be tolerated until a certain extent, as far as I know NE states like Assam are made of various indigenious tribes that are fiercely protective of their lands, and there will be a kick-back from these people, not to mention how things can get even worse for your illegals if Indian Govt chooses to get involved using BSF/CRPF, or God Forbid the IA.

Don't talk about trust mistrust, just explain how when a dam on Tiny Barak river could change Bangladesh into a Desert and earthquake fear, why not 4 dams on major Brahmaputra will turn BD into a Desert when Tibet had an earthquake few years back.
