What do you think?

  • Don't do it full stop

  • It's fine so long as it doesn't become a generational habit

cousin marriage is like f_cking your sister..its sick..its disgusting..and it makes retarded babies...
a nation is represented by its people and any nation would be as good as its people...cousin marriage destroy national gene pool by introducing genetic defects and weakening resistance...
I am growing throught the side effects of this right now.:(

Yes, i have heard even the Icelandic people have made some websites to know people whom they are dating are not related to them..as they also comes from a very small genetic pool.
theres a polandball pic out there that shows that i think @Fenrir would be of assistance here

I had just posted it above your comment:P. Finding it was easy since I made it.

I call it "The Saga of Iceland". Based on a true story.

It's true that Iceland's small population does cause dating issues., but that's an issue for any small population nation or peoples. Iceland's taken steps to mitigate the risks of inbreeding and a website dedicated to informing partners about their possible relations, as well as tracking their lineage, of which most Icelanders derive from a single family tree, was one such step. There are a few apps too.

You know it's sad thing this is. I jog in my park every day and often see these special needs vans that bring children for fresh air. Too often the child/young adult sat in the wheelchair being pushed by some young female council care worker (probably straight out of school) is Pakistani most likely as @save_ghenda mentioned from Mirpur. That is not right. Those individuals trapped in their cursed bodies for life. Their parents need wacking no offence. Whilst we can't avoid misfortune but we know we can reduce it. But I know some Mirpuri familes who have grand, parent, child all married to cousins. The cvictims of this practice are the broken bodies struggle with life. And please don't take this as a attack against people from Mirpur but this is fact and needs addressing.
It's also done by those who came from rural Rawalpindi, Attock and Jhelum and also Pathans.

isn't thata good thing marring someone who's not your cousin, manchester is a bit like bradford to me but only in certain parts

incest!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well you need to get out and travel and not be stuck in your own cucoon with your own misconceptions. Pakistanis are marryin people of various backgrounds including British Indian Gujuratis Muslims. I personally know 6 Pakistanis and their spous are of middle eastern heritage. Most of these cousins marriages occure between a British citizen o Pak heritage who is arranged to be married to their cousin in a rural part of Pakistan. Both have barley met or had any level of interaction in their lives making them feel like complete strangers.

Medically it's doesn't suit and out come from it sometime shocked one, Sharia Allow it now it's your choice.
Sharia allow 1st cousin despite the crazy risk of disabled children and disaeses :(:o:

In the UK it's the norm
now for Britsh Arabs to marry Pakistanis. Pakistanis are marrying white British people, Indian Muslims from Gujurat state, Bangladeshis, Kurds, Turks and even Afro Carribean. The community is progressing not stuck in their old ways.

I know overseas Pakistanis marry people from all over the world including muslims of other countries or local whites. Islamic world alone is huge so is diverse genepol. But the point is to break the cycle for likes of @EpiiC family where it seem to be generacional thing and the side effects that come with it.

:rofl::rofl: thanks nothing could have explained it better.
I can relate to this, during highschool i had a crush on a girl from my mother's gotra when i didn't knew about the gotra system..when i learned about it in a marriage, the crush suddenly became sister:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Dont people have an inherent distaste for a cousin as a partner? Its genetically built in to our psyche.
Well it's a very complex subject and within realm of philosophy. At a genetic level to seek out the best genetic partner is the best thing to do. Over generations it will up the physical and IQ stock of the population. In a competitive world scarce in resources you have no right to propagate ugly, physically sub-standard or intellectually deficient genes as that will pollute the genepool. Conversely if you are blessed with above average genetics you have duty to propagate that so the genetic pool improves. I think attraction and lust are natures devices to ensure this happens. In a free for all and competitive environment this would happen as it did amongst our ancestors.

However today we have religion, culture and morals that limit or control or obstruct the natural forces. Cousin marriages represents the extreme example of this where natural instinct has been arrested to conform with social customs. Too much freedom and the release of natural impulses might be bad for society and indivduls as it might create social choas and individual lives destroyed. What is right balance is a choice that society must make.
