You cannot cling onto traditions when world is moving foreward..

Secular Logic Western culture = forward , Indian culture and tradition = backward . This is what happens when people get brainwashed by Media on what modernity is ..
We should ask US to take over India. Then as the 51st or 52nd state of USA we can be called Americans. It is about practicability. Overnight, rupee will be ditched and our national currency will be dollars. Which citizenship is better? Being an Indian or being an American?

That would be awesome:rofl::rofl::rofl:
You should start petitioning and gathering like minded folks for this noble practicable endeavor.

Shut up man!! Where did I say Indian culture is backward..

You said "You cannot cling onto traditions when world is moving forward.." You just made an insinuation that our traditions are "backward" and learning German makes you "forward"

Just tell me what are the benefits of learning Sanskrit compared to German?

Again ... Nobody is forcing you to not learn German

Offcource being an American.. Why you think all those US haters catching the first flight to US when they get the chance..

Of course, so start a movement. What are you waiting for? Get on with your agenda.

Indians are capable to learn both,Sanskrit for 2 yrs at school and german or any other for 3-4 at undergraduate level.

What is the real benefit of keeping your parents in your house when they are 70 years old. The benefits of leaving them are more.

The answer is simple - it is our culture and our heritage spanning thousands of years. You dont sacrifice your own history at the altar of progress.

I am by no means suggesting that Indians should not be learning foreign languages, far from it, but that should not come at the cost of learning Indic languages - or rather The Indic language.

It was a language who disappeared naturally.. That means it has taken its course. Whats the benefit of reviving it.. Why cant the freedom to choose the language applied to that too??

You can still learn German as a hobby subject in KV . IF you think traditions are not important why don't you read the book "Traditions" by Edward shils

Sanskrit is still very much around taught and studied in universities and many local schools . It doesn't disappear just because you want it to disappear

It did not disappear naturally. It was by intention that the congress govt sidelined it.

I never said traditions are not important.. But we cannot just cling on to unnecessary traditions while people go foreward.. Are you going to commit suicide citing traditions if one of your forefathers committed suicide?

Yup.. I am seeing people talking Sanskrit all day long in every part of India!

It did not disappear naturally. It was by intention that the congress govt sidelined it.

Are you kidding me?

What kind of retarded logic is this ? Comparing a language like Sanskrit to someone committing suicide ...What ?
Why not kill everyone after age 70 as they are a burden to the society if you are going to argue in terms of "usefulness" ?

Very proud secular here. And I'm most definitely not a fan of western culture. But Bhartiya Sanskriti isn't one bit appealing either. Dowry, Patriarchy, Inequality, etc are all drawbacks most certainly connected to culture.
And most secularists I know have much higher IQs than the kulcha-protectors. Don't worry about us being brainwashed.
