China will soon have the warship with laser weaponry

.
Nothing definitive just yet. This paper from 2008, however, indicates that the Chinese military is at least somewhat interested in the shipborne laser weapon concept.

Chinese test of fiberoptics laser against aluminum/steel targets. Once again I don't know whether they are using it for military or civilian applications.

Is it me or does the cut seems too rough for civilian laser cutting?

Just been away to Sydney for a week. So many readings to do

There was a conference presentation on field trials of Military Ka-Band SATCOM On The Move Terminal for australian arm force mobile command unit. The dish antenna is mounted on a smaller setup similar to the one shown in your picture for testing its tracking accuracy under disturbances. The antenna and tracking unit is fitted inside a electromagnetically transparent radome like the one shown here:

Field Trials of Mounted Battle Command Ka-band Satcom “On-The-Move” : MilsatMagazine

They actually gave the presentation at the IEEE conference on antennas and propagation in Sydney so don't think it's anything too classified.

The one given at presentation can achieve a tracking angle error of 0.07 degrees static and 0.1 degrees for off road vehicle testing.

So it is possible that this device might be a tracker for anti-satellite device? (energy/kinetic)
