We are getting these on an emergency basis to make our newly achieved sea areas secured and there are other plans to procure modern ships as a part of 2021 navy modernization schedule.
China has offered 2 song class subs to Bangladesh navy and at the same time BN is also trying hard to get its hands on even superior subs from other countries and one 2nd hand frigate from USA is also joining the fleet....source-Bd military forum

Date is yesterday...every news here is new addition and the US ship is a very large patrol ship(more than 3000tonnes) which will be modified into a frigate locally..
Note: can't disclose more otherwise my access may also get restricted

According to jane's defence weekly, we are either going for f16, jas39, mig29, su30. Jane is a very reliable source, so there is a fifty per cent chance that we might have a bird whose component is from america.

And even the air force mentioned that f7s are for stop gap.

Depends on what we're selling. To core allies, we will transfer tech and help them build up their own capabilities. Those who do not seek aspirations to become a core ally will get the deal as written.

As Khulna Shipyard is building some OPVs and FACs with TOT from China oldest proven friend from Bangladeshi perspective, it means Bangladesh is subscribed in core ally list of China (though current BD govt. messed up things a bit).
