Featured China Mars rover successfully landed

. . .
I wish China had a gun installed on its rover to that NASA rover when they meet. :cheesy: Perfect scenario of taking the cold war into space and other planets.

On topic, heartiest congratulations.

China is peace loving country. China has never invaded another country in its history.

NASA and Perseverance just achieved the first powered flight on another planet and will collect the first Mars samples for a return mission. We’re at the forefront, you are a follower.

Technically, when sky crane delivered Curiosity rover on Mars in 2012 and flew off, it was first powered flight on another planet. Ingenuity copter is second powered flight on another planet. I think what you meant to say was first aircraft on another planet rather than first powered flight on another planet.

Be patient! Distance from Mars to Earth are long.. They will arrived soon,

At its closest point, there’s a 4 minute delay for radio signals to travel from Mars to Earth. At the most distant point, its 24 minutes. When Perseverance lands, it will be about 14 minutes.

china is a follower now because US has had a head start many years ago..i hope US keeps hurrying up or someone close behind will overtake.

Radio signal and data bandwidth transfer back are hell lot different.... Didnt you watch that video where the scientist/engineer claim they are collecting the data of the video and photo bit by bit due to the very very long distance. It will be released soon. Have some patient!

it would be nice if quantum comm & computing were used for instant transfer.

Bandwidth is different but speed is about same. A gigabit file should not take more than 20 minutes at 4 mbs even with satellite going out of range during transmission.

Once it is on the orbiter—such as the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter—it can be sent to Earth at 500 kilobits-per-second (kb/s) up to 3 to 4 Mb/s depending upon distance between Mars and Earth,” said Townes.
