What's new

China, India scaled 'astronomical' heights when West was in Dark Ages

As we have already discussed, major changes underwent during that time in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Buddhism began to accept many Hindu practices and rituals whereas the Hindus considered Lord Buddha as one of the avatars of Vishnu. Senas were orthodox Hindus, but the persecution that you speak of against the Buddhists hold little ground. Vikramshila was still standing by the time their empire came under the attack of Bakhtiyar Khilji.

Are you a Buddhist ?

"Buddhists lived for a 1000 years in India along with the Hindus in peace. They disappeared the moment the islamic invasion happens. What does that tell you ? lol. "

Aww exposing your true Hindutva agenda so early in the game? I'm disappointed.

"
1. Slavery did not exist in INdia bfore the islamic invasion. "

Come on... Don't kid yourself now. CASTE SYSTEM!

LOL..... there was no "Caste" system in India.

We only had the Varna system and the various Jaathis.

It was the british who introduced "castes" in India. So much for your knowledge of history

. .
All races contributed to the growth of the subcontinent, including the Muslims who came at various stages of history.
Not denying that. But the Golden era of Indian subcontinent ended with Islamic conquest. Since then, there wasn't much of a scientific temper, the rulers tried to be wealthy and they were successful at it but was theocratic with much less inclusiveness. In contrast the Shakas Hunas were more inclusive and integrated well.

Here in England our historians acknowledge and respect all contubutors to British history, including Vikings, Normans and Romans, who at times were beyond brutal during their conquests. Why can't Hindus grow up and get the Mughal chip off their shoulder already?
haha, historically the Brits have shot down contribution of people of color. All those who come up with any good brain from colonies were treated like vermin. All the books at the time (Sanskrit) were translated, stolen and they are still kept in Royal Museums.

.
I am not! Just a tribal Assamese belonging to Hindu faith, been sharing snippets of history that i had studied couple of decades back in school.

Ok, in that case I need to tell you that your knowledge of buddhism is totally wrong. Its more like the british/communist version of buddhism.

. .
Ashokavadana is discredited by whom? You? You basically discredit and/or disown (or alternatively attempt to appropriate by claiming Buddhism a branch of hindusim) any Buddhist or Mughal history of your nation. Why? I cannot understand this, as someone living in Britain, where the Brits celebrate all who contributed to their history regardless of religion.

Are you a Buddhist ?

At least have the guts to stand by your history. What a complete coward.

I would say you have been brainwashed into believing your golden era ended with the Mughals. They took India in a new direction, commerce, trade, technology.... While previously the Hindu scholars focused on more philosophical or mathematical matters. Nothing wrong with either eras of your history. My point is that obfuscation or revision of the Islamic parts of your history has not helped anyone.

We visit Buddhist temples in my place and partake in their celebrations, and they in ours. No religious congregation or procession goes without us worshipping Lord Buddha. Let @Gadkari explain to us the tenets of Buddhism but for us here he is no less pious than our Hindu gods.

You might not be proud of your history, but we Hindus are. So stop projecting your pessimism on us.

This is a thread on history. You don't like it, leave.

Remains of a bathroom complex from Lothal, site of Sarasvati-Sindhu civilization around 2500 BCE..

Flush toilet from Mohenjo Daro site of Sarasvati-Sindhu or Harappan civilization around 2500 BCE. When most part of the world (including other regions of India) lived as hunter gatherers in caves & jungles, the SSC had such an advanced sanitary system.

We had bathrooms connected to drainage in 2,500 BC. I.e. 4,500 years back.
Your comment is stupid n hypocritic. Your past came from the British.
Since Bhirrana, on the Sarasvati River, has been found to be oldest Harappan site, There is now no such thing as the Indus Civilization, what we have now is the Sarasvati Civilization. And what remains to be done is renaming of Indus script as Sarasvati script.

The iconography from the this civilization is common from Haryana to Harappa to Lothal (Ahmedabad) and Dholavira.

Similar examples are the statues of Yakshi's found in Harappa which is similar to Mauryan art.

Another example is the "mast of the animals" symbol that is found from Mohanjodaro and right up to Konkan.

Yes, I can see that you are desperate to share the glory.

Thanks , but no thanks. I have no intention of crediting the barbarians who ruined my civilization with any credit other that what they richly deserve.

Just for the record, these are some of the 18 great universities that existed in ancient India. THIS is what they look after the islamic invasion.

Ancient bharàt was just like everyone else- she dont exist anymore. U may relish in your past glory though.

All the rest of the world outside Europe has been taken over by colonialism(fact, except antarctica)

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/10-countries-who-were-never-colonized-by-europeans.html

Saudi arabia
Iran
Japan
Korea
Thailand
China
Afghanistan(not really, the Soviets did colonised it)
Nepal
Bhutan
Ethiopia

Only East asia and some isolated cases stands to these day (fact). This is why the Chinese is the longest, continuos civillization today. I have made a post about this before.

This is true. Both our civilizations have gained indispensable wisdom in our tenure of existence. Unfortunately, we fell prey to European colonialism and divisive tactics/systems of so called "governance".

China is fighting back now, the world has taken notice and it's time for our Pakistani & Indian friends to do the same.

Really? The europeans couldnt get hold of china because even though the Qing dynasty was weak n corrupt, the people were unified under the emperor.

This is why the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxer_Rebellion was supported by the commoners. The chinese were united as a people against western imperialism.

If we anàlysis it, the similar trait between the countries in east asia is that all 3 of them were and still are racially-homogeneous societies.

Would the hokkiens be waging war on the hakkas(atually, not even racial, but dialectal differences) back then? No, because we are all descendants of the first https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yan_Emperor aka shennong n https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Emperor

Racial pride enabled the Chinese to stand united. Same in korea n japan.

This eliminates infighting and internal animosity, unlike in india whereby the hundreds of princely states were fighting n plotting against each other while the British were gobbling them up 1 by 1

Ashokavadana has stories of "Past lives of Buddha". like his past life as a Monkey etc. So if you want to believe the book one also has to believe the monkey story.

One cannot selectively cheery pick the "truth" from that book as per your convenience.

At least have the guts to stand by your history. What a complete coward.

I have no problem with the truth, only with lies masquerading as the truth.

The only significant trade during mughal rule as the Slave trade of Hindus. That was certainly a "new direction".

Buddha was a practicing Hindu Yogi. He was called Sankya Muni because he was initiated into the Mahanirvana Peetham, an ancient order of Hindu Yogi that sought "Nirvana" (Hence the name "MahaNirvana"). Sankya is one of the oldest philosophy and practices of Hinduism, Yogi being an integral part of it.

Buddha's "Ashta Marga" or "Noble eithfold path" is nothing but the Astanga Yoga of Patanjali, another sage of the Sankya philosophy.

I have already posted the link between Hindu tantra and Buddhist tantra via "Arya Manjushri mula kalpa".

Your link is only for colonialization by EUROPEANS.

China was colonized by the Mongols. By the Japanese and by the British in whole and in parts.

Japan by the US in recent history. Iran by greeks and arabs and turks. Korea by japan. etc. There is no nation on earth that has not been invaded and ruled by others. Maybe Saudi arabia and Nepal. But even of them I am not sure.

Tell me what is the meaning of colonisation?

Your claims of the Chinese being colonised by the Mongols requires evidence(burden of proof is on u), especially when the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_dynasty is a Chinese dynasty, whereby its ruler took up Chinese names, assimilated into Chinese culture and adopted Chinese system of governance- and received the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandate_of_Heaven .

Same for the Qing.

'In parts' by the British? U mean Hong Kong? That's called 'parts'?

Hongkong vs the British raj?

Ya explain how the Japanese, Mongols n British did this.

Did they do this? Wanna keep deluding yourself?

A lot of indian history is fake and written by white racists who were actually looking for their own glory free of Jewish christianity. Sanskrit contary to what some indians believe here was actually hyper inflated by western historians and in fact it is a constructed language. A lot of sanskrit words were actually borrowed from south Indian languages like Telugu (not surprising as British first colony was in south eastern side). All the culture by local darkskinned dravidians was taken and pasted on to a constructed language like sanskrit and where did sanskrit origniate as per them ? in European border by white blonde people ofcourse - Lol.

In fact many western colonists then infiltrated Indian society as brahmins and wrote gibberish books which were given fake antiquity and was eventually credited to pure "aryans" from steppes. This was done to legitimize te british rule as original veda rule . You can see here Yajur veda the fourth veda written by french actually .

DqjG-W2WkAAnWox.jpg

The biggest victims of this fraud were south indians and non-brahmin caste as their cultural acheivements were taken and spun to support a theory of white aryans diluted to somewhat lighter brahmins and then to others.
