The problem is not being secular but the term secular itself:
not connected with religious or spiritual matters. - meaning i got from google

Now when we 95% take everything from the food we eat to how we dress (which is not much of a concern in Turkey) then how can you ask us to be ruled by one who doesnt take any of this as his/ her concern?

Islam (if followed in its pure form) gives rights to each minority...Now the taking Pakistan as an example is flawed....Because Scandinavia is more Islamic than any Islamic country! ALMOST all the rights practiced in Scandinavia are in Shariah....

As for laws.....Only 15% of Shariah is about criminal laws....we have human rights, religious rights, neighbours rights, rights of the ward of the state (orphan), widows and many others...none of which hit the newspapers coz almost all are in some way followed by 21st century west...while same were written some 1400 yrs ago in a desert!





Well, women rights are also found in Islam...it is a different thing that culturally misogynist S.Asia doesnt allow these rights to surface so much that women dont even know they have rights...why blame religion for a cultural mindset?

And when you have man made laws (which change based on who pays the most money or cries the loudest) how would you know which is right? what is the limit? While laws from the creator would know how better to deal with a situation ...no?

1. The fact remains. The 95% Muslim Turkey ruled by a athiest (Many tell Mustafa Kemal is a athiest) once, is still the one and only developed Muslim Majority nation with rights to all. Whats the point of being a Islamic nation (Ok, Pakistan is a flawed Islamic nation) when the people are not developed. At the end of the day, religion does not provide food for the people. They need to earn by themselves, and the job of the state administration is to provide them employment.

2. Scandinavian countries or western countries do not follow the laws of Shariah alone in one forms of another. They still follow Biblical laws, and Hindu texts (again 3000's years old) too quote various laws on equality of women in no uncertain terms. Throughout our history there are lots of Queens who had run kingdoms.
There is a famous Tamil qoute in which the Supreme Lord Shiva tells of his consort " I am no Siva without Shakti, nor there is no Shakthi, without Siva". This mean, Lord Shiva and Mata Shakthi are same and one, and he tries to implies Man and women are equal. When Biblical laws are amended to the present time, Islam can be too modified a little right?

3. Its not a point of blaming a religion sister. Blame the South Asians right cos our culture was like that. But India, SL, are fastly changing with times. But the question is, other Islamic nations are giving equal rights to womens? No.
Iran, Afghanistan or even Pakistan few decades back was all tolerant. Now?
I am not blaming Islam for it, and lets say they do not follow true Islam, but why the people are silent about it?

I am a Pakistani and I have no problem with islam we live in harmony and peace with others. Persons who has taken foreign nationalities and are living abroad are worried about us and islam.
