CH-4 Chinese UCAV Arrives in Pakistan for Army

Soon the savages killing innocents in Baluchistan will have a reason to fear the skies.

Hopefully we will see the end of attacks on convoys, FC posts, road etc. They have to come out in the open which are far away from mountain hideouts, and they also use the road network. They should be easy pickings for the drones.
Use the armed UAVs generously! PKK terrorists can’t move in twos now!! They even surrender to the UAVs...

Please read what I wrote. What difference would CH-4 make in relation to terrorist in balochistan/FATA/Iran/Afghanistan/India when we have no even used the Burraqs we have??? We lack the political will to even use these drones. Im afraid all they will be used for is march 23rd parades and for the self esteem of most fan boys here.

Stop living in LALA land. Higher ceiling? so they can get caught in high angle radars which are abundant in military C4I systems and SAMS. Drones are better off flying at a low service ceiling to begin with. Most successful drone strikes have occurred at 5000 feet or less.
More like u can't accept Buraq is not good enough compare to CH-4B? If CH-4B start taking out balochistan terror shortly, I do not know what excuse will u come out next.

As some already pointed out the big different from payload, range and performance of both. A UCAV strapped with 2 missile don't suddenly make it into a potent platform.

CH4 is the most suitable, the most cost-effective.
At this level, CH4 is the best choice, with the most appropriate price, the most mature technology and the most functional modules. It was developed by an enterprise affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Group,Have a good data link

The better one is of course the CH5, which is farther, bigger, has more bombs, but one can buy a lot of CH4s.

Just like a ballistic missile with a 10000 km, and another range of 3,000 km, it depends on the needs of the country.

Dear Fellows, CH4 are being placed at Khanewal which hub for Army Aviation.
That is clear, these birds are meant to be used against enemy mechanized formation in Thar near Bahawalpur. It will take only 15-20 minutes and these will be on border.
For Baluchistan, our Buraq is sufficient.

Khanewal is in middle of East and West so can be used on Western borders as well

Burraq is a very novel idea. It's small and it's cheap. In case of a war we shud b able to send hundreds of burraqs across to hunt down tanks and artillery pieces just like Azerbaijan and Turkey have done in NK Syria and Libya.

When u have plenty of targets endurance doesn't matter much...

On top of that we need a good number of MALE UAVs for patrolling troop protection and deeper strikes. CH4 is welcome addition indeed

Can see the usual crowd of Pakistanis getting emotional because Pakistan didn’t buy the best thing available. Even if Pakistan buys F35 they’d say “Why didn’t we ask USA to make us F36?!!?”

The People in charge of this stuff understand it better than civilians sitting at home. Why buy something the capability of which you don’t need? When you can buy more of what you actually need. They need to balance cost effectiveness and performance. CH-4 in moderate numbers is perfect for this task while Buraq can take care of internal threats as well as external ones as a cheaper solution when needed. Why buy the most expensive thing when your own, better option is under development.

At the end of the day this CH-4 acquisition is basically a stop gap, someone in the military probably decided they needed a better UCAV ASAP since the PAC MALE UAV won’t be in serial production for a year or two still. And this is the perfect stop gap till then. Where they are stationed and where they will go remains for the military to decide.

it’s funny when people with two American flags beside the name cry about what Pakistan has and uses without really knowing what’s up and then they start bashing the people in charge. They’re In-Charge for a reason, sheesh. And who says we haven’t used The Buraq? There’s more videos of the Buraq being used on terrorists than there are of our Tanks in action. Does that mean we have tanks only to roll out on a parade?

Although 'we' wrote a proposal for way forward in the Balochistan but i will touch base on Drones:
  • Conduct Surveillance & Recon operation along border region & hotspots with in Pakistan. These Hotspots are the areas with high incident / attack rate
  • SIGINT operation
  • Drone Strikes for targeted attacks
  • Special Ops to be deployed following the strike for BDA (Battle Damage Assessment). Verify target was neutralize
  • Ensure open communication to the Public on the drone attacks in order to avoid negative propaganda. There will be negative PR once we start carrying out drone strikes. Hence it is imperative that public be made aware of the situation.
Do that and you will lose any sympathy for the federation still left in Balochistan. No amount of PR will prevent that.

Create truly empowered local governments, fund and support small SMEs manufacturing products that are being imported at the moment, and wait out the insurgency while ensuring better training and safety for the troops. The insurgency will die a slow death.

Why don't we see use of drones in balochistan. Its so dumb to understand that in a country where we have seen the use of US drones, and the effectiveness of drones in syria and Azerbaijan and we still don't use them for surveillance and combat purposes in Balochistan and KPK. Even the afghan talibans are now using drones for surveillance and combat purposes, how long befor TTP HUA and even balochi terrorists start using it for spying and dropping bombs on FC.

What I can't understand is that even CH-5 is available for past three years. So why didn't went for those.
