LOL make yr calculations right. Skardu is 7,8751 ft. Still thats just excuse.............. In just 2 years u got that while the first we got was in late 80s that was Zia ul Haq's plane being bombed internally not maintenance fault(the first maintenance fault crash came in 98) and we got them in 62-63.In those days they used to go regularly up to East Pakistan. Even after 71 our these planes have gone as far as China, America, Europe, North Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Middle East, Africa, occasionally in South America etc etc. Even in 65 and 71 they were used as bomber and in gunship roles as well besides transport.

And u cant handle a better and more powerful version then our early 60s old aircraft.

None of this takes away the fact that you were plain wrong when you said that your skardu airbase is higher than anything we have. Factually wrong, and by a long way. DBO airbase is more than twice as high. And many airbases in India are higher than anything in Pakistan.

.
why are indians making such big fuss.
every country has lost them including Pakistan.
we have lost plenty of them including our president with it.

August 18, 1965 : C-130B 12648 of the Pakistan Air Force was written off after it veered off runway on landing.
July 15, 1966 : C-130B 24142 of the Pakistan Air Force (6 Squadron) crashed into mountain in Pakistan. All ten aboard killed.[68]
April 30, 1968 : L-100 64145 of the Pakistan Air Force, crashed when wing broke in turbulence near Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
July 8, 1969 : C-130B 24390 of the Pakistan Air Force burned out during refuelling at Islamabad – as of October 1986, hull was on dump at Islamabad.
March 4, 1970 : C-130B 24389 of the Pakistan Air Force, (6 Squadron), written off.
February 1, 1979 : C-130B 23488 of the Pakistan Air Force jumped chocks during night engine test run, collided with 10687 and was written-off.
February 1, 1979 : C-130E 10687 of the Pakistan Air Force hit by 24388 when it jumped chocks during night engine test run, written-off. Hull at Lahore, June 1981.
August 17, 1988 : C-130H 23494 of the Pakistan Air Force crashed shortly after take off from Bahawalpur killing all on board including Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, President of Pakistan from 1978, the US ambassador to Pakistan, a US general and 17 top ranking Pakistan Army personnel. Two of the scheduled passengers who did not board the aircraft later reached the highest rank in Pakistan Army, chiefly because most of their seniors died in this incident. One of them was General Mirza Aslam Baig, as Chief of Army Staff. Although many people do not consider this an accident, neither Pakistan nor the US government properly investigated the incident and made the findings public. Some researchers claim that there was a bomb hidden in the mango crates which were loaded on the plane without proper clearance. Eyewitnesses claim that the aircraft exploded in the air. Such claims were declared false by the government and the remains of the aircraft were swiftly disposed of.[69] Some of the remains are still there in crash lab of Air Safety Institute, PAF base Masroor, claearly showing the chipped off blades of the destroyed engines (i.e. running at normal) and explosion as the most probable cause.
September 1o, 1998 : Five crewmen (2 pilots and 3 FEs) were killed and four more were injured when a Pakistan Air Force C-130 went out of control after brake fire and hit a parked C-130 at the PAF Chaklala base. Both the aircrafts were written off.[70]

Opinion of an ex-IN pilot from another forum :

If we analyse this crash based on the distance of tail and main body wreckage, it appears to be a clear case of flying into the ground. It seems that this ac was on a low level insertion practice flight and the pilots probably pulled up very late on the other bank of the river which probably caused the tail to strike the ground first and break away resulting in the crash. This can be deduced from the way the wreckage is lying on the ground.

Whilst it's hard to believe such an advanced machine with four engines and fitted with the most state of the art avionics could crash- it does happens. A thorough investigation will be conducted and we need to wait and see until it what conclusions they come to.

My initial reaction would be that the IAF has been practicing nap of the earth/low level flying with its Super Hercs given these are dedicated spec ops transports so maybe this is a training mission gone wrong.

However I can only speculate like everyone else here.

RIP to all that May have lost their lives.

Stupid the primary argument was abt C-130j crash, and u came up with excuse that just because our r higher so they got crashed and we have a long land mass..........all this is yr excuse to cover up yr incompetence in maintaining something!
We got ours in early 60s and the first crash we got was in 98 which was due to maintenance problem. And u on the otherhand have a better and more powerful version then ours, still it got crashed in just a span of 2 years!!!

The crash of American made, Lockheed Martin C-130 J Super Hercules, one of the biggest and newest transport aircraft, is a mighty loss to India.

The crash has prompted shocked reactions considering the Boeing C-130's record of reliability and reputation.

I guess that whether its Russian made or American made Weapons or Aircrafts, it doesnot matter, as long is in Indian hands...you got admit it will fail and crash and then subsequently covered up.
