Its time for private players to grab this opportunity to forge ties with GE, Rolls royce ,pratt and whitney and likes and develop a brand new one.

I can see GE helping.
the F-404 and F-414 are becoming obsolete for the U.S domestic use. F-18 SH is coming to a close so who else would use the F-414???? only planes going to need this engine now and in the future is Saab Gripen and LCA Tejas.

it would be a good well gesture to show India how to build the F-414 from scratch.

get some bi-lateral cooperation going.

The use of pakistan was to make a point. There is no way in hell Indian govt. will sanction any such sale to pakistan anyway.

We are not stupid either to buy a failed product that has been worked on for 30 damn years and that to from India.
You people never had the expertise to build a reliable jet engine and probably not in future too. Most of the Jet engine Manufacturing companies like GE, P&W do not share engine secrets, and those like Snecma milks the projects for money and make sure that the project fails.

China will be kissing goodbye to AL-31s after going through its store of the engines。

One has to find a use for those Russian engines that were purchased before the arrival and maturing of WS-10 and its variants of which the latest has a thrust of slightly over 14000 kgf。

Lately China has become increaingly confident in and vocal about building its own advanced engines，of all kinds。

n case you haven't learned anything about Pakistan by now, unlike india which starts everything with a big fart bang, with big buck hoola for a quarter of a century and then quietly shelves the much touted, super innovative "out of this world" projects quietly in favour of some similar big fart bang project, to be abandoned later. We in Pakistan do small things, keep quiet, keep a low profile and make the darned things work on shoe string budget.

FYI we have a lot of successful projects including our SSBN,space program ,missiles etc.Now shut up.

It didn't achieve what it was supposed to do. It didn't replace the 250+ aging Mig 21's. IAF is not in a mood to induct it rather it is being forced down their throat. I hope it doesn't end up in a mess just as kaveri was said to power drones.
