you are right but if you study hadiths you will find that it was foretold. it is also a sign of qiyammah. when you see incapable people running the affairs of the government then wait for qiyyamah. our system filters out the capable honest people at lower levels and only those who are good at manipulating things go higher. people with no principles, no IQ, no vision go to the top and the better people either turn in their wings out of furstration of they strive for better future in foreign countries.

I do agree with @Imran Khan pov, he is right, not unless Civil forces work for the good, strengthened and empowered, and the fear of law sits in people, knowing that they can’t escape, such punishments in public won’t bring any change. According to Fiqh, public executions are the only way to dissuade sex crimes. This is because while most of the society has decency and moral fortitude, there will always be a section of society which will try to exploit vulnerabilities.

Our ancestors, the Mughals, enforced strict punishments for such crimes and managed to change the culture if the region for the better. We should follow in their footsteps.

Death sentence is understandable, but why must it be in public? There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that making the execution public is going to deter anyone.

We already make convicted peadophiles in high profile cases known in media, their names are known to us too. And then they are executed. So both public is informed and the guilty is outed publicly and then they are executed too.

What on earth does this extra step achieve apart from making us look like Islamic emirate of Afghanistan and their stadium stoning/executions?

Parliamentarians should get on with their job instead of grandstanding. The country is in an economic crisis and turbulent times, do what you were elected to do instead of trying to make useless headlines.

The country needs investors and a good international image. This is counterproductive.
