Tax collection more than doubled from 2018 to 2021 to 6000+ billion so IK was able to subsidize fuel! Also he was going to get 30% cheaper fuel from Russia. He wasn't borrowing more just to subsidize. People like you would claim that Sehat Card, affordable housing, mortgage schemes, etc everything was for political gains!

So? What's the problem in that? They can only keep one passport by law but they are still Pakistani origins and should be able to vote like other Pakistani origins in GCC countries

The whole country right now is being run from London, planes full of imported government officials, journalist doing Umra on taxpayers money. Frequent trips to UK to ask for directions to run govt.. But overseas Pakistanis cant vote? The overseas Pakistanis send remittances which help lowering current account deficit, improving rupee value, they invest in Pakistan, bring their expertise to build institutions (Sania Nishtar, Moeed Yusuf, Raza Baqir). This cannot go for long.

Everything is kind of falling in places, before a revolution and a rebellion there is always chaos and mayhem, and when status quo is breaking or a failed system is falling, after the darkness cometh the light.

Without the trials and tribulations there won't be any change, the whole system is now upside down and close to being reduntant.

The hope and passion of the people for the real change is already a victory for the people, the awareness and energy was never there and all stopped being Apolitical and now they are political and not neutral.

Change comes initially to hearts and minds...this has happened en masse. Change in the system is just a matter of time.

Tax collection can be proportional to inflation. The demand for fuel could have also risen (which could contribute to larger indirect tax). Has the tax to GDP ratio really doubled in 3 years? This will be a more accurate measure.

So? Doesn't matter whether it is sent to families or to govt bonds. Foreign money coming to Pakistan doesn't get used inside the country anyway because of transactions being in Rupees. It's only used by state bank and govt to pay for imports and external debt repayments.

Direct tax collection has risen more and with it the number of tax filers.

The thing is people will be cajoled to pay tax when the govt. is not splurging the money on extravagance and useless projects.
