USA’s per capita gdp is 4 times than that of Mexico. Whereas for India it’s almost same as Bangladesh and most of surrounding states of India has lower par capita GDP than Bangladesh. Plus it’s projected it’s a matter of time Bangladesh will overtake India’s per capita gdp. Very bad comparison from a country known as largest open air toilet with only 2000 USD per capita.

A country's govt must not allow a few individual companies to kill cancer patients instead of curing the disease and earn money/profit in such an inhuman and illicit way.

If the country has no such reliable trial methods or machinery, the drugs should be sent for tests to reliable trial destinations in western countries including Japan. Unless properly faced, these cancer drugs will cause cancer to the reputation of our pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh, and the country will lose the export market for other medicines as well.

Onus to test medicines is always on the importing country. Bangladesh companies have always conducted GMP and toxicology tests (they always do for each production batch, standard pharma procedure) and they can furnish test results if required. It is a requirement even before a batch is cleared for exports to another country.

I have posted the Bangladesh pharma plants and their production standards before, right here. Take a look. I will again at some point. Their production standards (on average) are certainly no worse than Indian pharma standards, and I'd say probably better than most Indian companies who export. Local Indian pharma standards are far worse.

But these questions about testing (and other crap) are a moot point. Indian Pharma companies (or local agents in India for Euro Pharma) can't charge (or can't sell at) the formerly high prices anymore, because of price competition from Bangladeshi pharma products, so they are coming up with Bull$hit excuses to ban Bangladeshi drugs.

If a cancer patient is saved and at one-tenth (in fact mostly one-twentieth) the cost, does the patient care where the drug is made?? Especially when India is such a price-sensitive market and few people (aam Janta) can afford those?

This is called open market and freedom of choice.

We buy plenty of Indian products (such as motorcycles for example) because they offer better performance than Chinese ones at the same (or often - lower) price, are we complaining?

Just that a bunch of Indian businessmen don't like the concept of an open market...

By the way - Bangladesh has an agreement with the EU where they can copy and export any patented drug until another ten years. The reason for these lower prices.

Indian patients (as well as Bangladeshis) are the net beneficiaries of these lower costs, courtesy of the UN who you can Thank.

Neither Bangladesh nor India market new drugs which requires 3 levels of field trial. We only make drugs which already trialed and tested by the western countries.
