Bangladesh to remove Jihad from madrasa textbooks

there is always hope in BD, what about India ? seems like slipping to the hand of different extremist religious groups like RSS, Shiv Sena etc
In 50 odd years the Shiv Sena has not even formed the Government in its home state of Maharashtra - twice it has been an alliance partner - once as a senior partner in 1994-99 when they changed the name of my city to assuage their fragile egos and now as a angry junior partner in a coalition which behaves more like the Opposition than like a ruling party. I've never even seen an RSS member in my life - although I do agree their ideology is divisive.

Janaab leave jihad to Allah , improve the teaching staff , be careful about your staff . Jihad isn't a problem at all
Removing it u showed to islam phobics that u r scared or disdain jihad .
Why leave everything to Allah who lives somewhere very far away and does not really come down to dictate things. The Earth is inhabited by people who will themselves decide what is good and what is not. BD should not follow the line of extremism found in Pakistan, Afghanistan and in their west. Jihad is a core word with many different controversial explanation that cause debates and infighting among the Muslims which pleases the Hindus, Christians and Zionists. Why do you suggest a recipe for future troubles in a Muslim country?

. .
So, Muslims of Bangladesh will stop teaching their kids the defense of their ideological fronts and become door mats for whoever wants to takeover Bangladesh.
Jihad is integral part of Islam, same as any other nation has the right to defend their way of life, Muslims have too, and thats called Jihad.

BD should do what's good for it and adapt Islam to it's needs

The hell are you smoking? Every country regardless of the dominant beliefs has a right to defend itself. We don't need a religious right for us to defend our selves. Did Revolutionary France which completely separated the Church from the state need religion to defend itself after it got rid of the royal family? Did Communist Vietnam need a religious right to defend itself from the US, China, or France?

No its about personal level. Defending your beleifs in an argument or leaving bed in the morning for Fajr while not wanting to are all Jihad.
But i dont want to argue with BD. We are happy we got rid of you.

You're the one who brought up a takeover of Bangladesh

Got rid of is a bit inaccurate. Regardless, the feeling is mutual.

So there is some hope for BD!

Rule no. 1 there is never any hope for BD. It is worst combination possible of dissonance in the region for all kinds of reasons (both inherent and enforced) many stemming from why and how it was birthed in this current political existence.

This will just make the "bad" segments go underground even more and polarise more overtly.

Just watch the long term drama and results bear inevitably poisoned fruit.

Why you think some butthurts in this thread are so eager to try deflect back to India which lives rent free in their weak psyche? They know just how quickly time is running out for even BD's domestic relative sense of stability, recently usurped even more in large degree for a certain political sustenance. Thus some real nastiness is lurking around each corner, waiting for the right opportunity.

Both India and MM should be prepared for it and make more hay and mitigate/re-direct the sewer flood when it happens. @Aung Zaya

Is it possible that they teach everything about these to students? No. Then omit some parts. Parts that talks about Jihad.
Man, if we try to skip Jihad from Quran, Hadith and Fikah, It will be like, we are trying to skip Machiavelli from Political Science.

Not possible at all...

We can see what the overzealous Jihadis are doing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and many other Muslim countries. Jihad is a word that causes only confusions and confrontations which lead to disunity among the Muslims. How a disunited community can go forward? This word does not take the Muslim countries to the front. It takes them rather backward.

Why to stick to it when the Muslims lack some other essential qualities like compassion, righteousness, sincerity and other human qualities? We should discard some elements that causes disunity and makes us slaves of the Christian Europe. Today's fight is not to establish religious superiority by waging war. Today's fight is over national economic development where every Muslim country has failed so far.

I agree. No one disagrees with following the tenets of one's own religion and practicing one's religion and salvation in private.

But extremism sourced from all organized religion must be curbed (especially among the lower classes in the whole subcontinent).
+1
