Bangladesh mulls importing train coaches from ICF

I can understand reason Bangladesh choose to import cheap raw materials from India. But it is stupid to buy things like Train coaches, when you can have far better trains from China or Indonesia. Not only that but you could make a deal of TOT for a reasonable price.

On the paper BD is a perfect place for train infrastructure, with its high population density. Trains and busses and other collectiv transport are far better for environment than everyone riding motorbykes or cars in the future. This also saves precious agricultural land from being paved for uneccesary large road transport system.

If Bangladesh wants to become a high income, developed nation, we have to create 10s of millions of middle class jobs - this can only be achieved through heavy industrialisation in all parts of the country in a decentralised manner by setting up several self-sufficient industrial regions across several districts. Each of these industrial regions would need commuter shuttle services to transport workers within and to/from surrounding districts. There is opportunity to include mass rapid transit systems as part of planning for these industrial zones.

Even they just said Indonesia is just assembling the plane LOL. Do they know that even current KFX/IFX prototypes has Indonesian made part on it ??? Just see on my KFX/IFX thread to see that fact, there I bring document from Indonesian Aerospace showing design work for tandem version of KFX/IFX done in Bandung, Indonesia ( after all design engineers (116 engineers) go back to Indonesia after the design is completed in September 2019) and parts manufactuing for several KFX/IFX prototype done in Bandung in 2020 ( I show a page in PTDI document about what they do in specific year of 2020).

Each of these industrial regions would need commuter shuttle services to transport workers within and to/from surrounding districts. Aboslutely

By creating several industrial regions youll automatically relieve the pressure on Dhaka. Each region will naturally evolve its own centers that will further grow into large cities. This will on its own create even more jobs in the construction and service sectors through ripple effects.

Large modern cities in China like Shenzen, are result of such policies by Beijing central government.

Indonesia and Bangladesh could have a great synergy and support each other’s growth.

I do not think that Modi is deluded to think that BD will ever buy lethal defensive products from India.

Infrastructure projects maybe if the Indians can offer the price:quality ratio but they are nowhere near China on this front.

Don't worry. Their HAL is no competition for Indonesia's PT Dirgantara or their naval yards for PT PAL.

I know about both countries and their capabilities. Indonesia was a huge customer of Cincinnati Milacron even back in the 80's when they invested in huge airframe milling machines. I doubt anything similar was even invested at in HAL.

Some Indians are into more beating of chests than doing actual accomplishments.

Sometimes they come to us Bangladeshis and chest beat about this or that thing - just to feel good. :lol:

Please watch the video to know how train coaches are built. It is an Indian factory, but worth learning from it. BD lacks this kind of high-tech manufacturing factories and hence people remain unemployed or have to work only in the low-value garments factories.

Rail manufacturing won't get wind to its sail until rail is privatised and the network expanded.

Here I will be talking about the export industries without which BD industries cannot develop.

Steel industries are built wherever iron ores are available, jute industries are built wherever jute is successfully grown, plastic industries are grown wherever there is a petrochemical complex, and a petrochemical complex is built wherever oil is extracted.

BD has no natural resources/ mines other than coal in the north, gas in Sylhet, limestones in Indian territory near Sylhet. You can see jute mills were built in Faridpur, Sirajganj and Khulna, and the cement factories are built in Sylhet.

i am rarely giving comment here anymore, but Indonesian PT INKA coaches and trainset already being exported to Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh with many of them being repeat order for years and now they are prepared for further tender to African countries facing direct competition from China and Japan companies. That's export success alone speak about PT INKA quality control and after sales services support

You don't have to mention this brother, we in Bangladesh already know the superior quality of PT INKA products in our Railway. The Customers (Railway coach riders) have already expressed much superior praise for PT INKA coaches (and also Laksana three axle and double-decker long distance buses) made in Indonesia in social media.

These facts are well-known. No one trying to BS otherwise will not succeed.
