I talked about decade to give you an idea where is your Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos is where Bangladesh is.

Bangladesh will be on same level of Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia in terms of GDP in a decade. Just giving you idea if you really like to do comparison.

Dude, you are not looking at this in detail. At 1971 BD was arguably worse off than in 1947 as whatever little that was built between 1947-1971 was destroyed in the war and the looting of the Indian army when they left.
BD started with no intellectual capital in 1971 as Pakistan Army vindictively tried to kill off all the intellectuals to hamper BD. It took maybe two decades to build a functioning country with an export industry(garments).

All that really would matter in 2031 is if BD maintains the current growth rate till then, infrastructure is at a decent level, exports are diversified away from garments, Tax to GDP ratio raised from 10 to at least 15% and "Forces Goal 2030" is completed to make a powerful military. Now would you be ashamed of this?

Pls, try to understand that timid, pessimistic and submissive attitude comes out if one has inferiority complex while arrogance comes out of someone's behavior if he has superiority complex. It's easy to sit in 2019's developed world with unlimited instant knowledge at our fingertips and express strong expectations from BD.

Post 1971 Bangladesh was a basket case, one of the poorest most miserable places on Earth. We had miniscule natural resources, huge population, no infrastructure and regular natural disasters. Knowledge, expertise and technology were slow all over the world. Today you can have an iPhone the same week it comes out in USA, at that time technology took decades to move.

From that base, can you even imagine a way up? Where is a country like that supposed to even start? 48 years is nothing at all.

Difference is economy. Most of the European countries are small but has strong economies. At the end of the day it matters.

Sure we can. I have nothing against Vietnam. It terms of per capita gdp it is around couple of hundred dollar more but gdp is 25% lower than Bangladesh and will continue to be so in the next decade. With higher growth rate Bangladesh will catch up with Vietnam's per capita gdp or perhaps cross it in next 1 decade.

I don't know for why, may be due to massive currency depreciation, Myanmar GDP now stand at 65 billion dollar according to IMF 2019 data. It used to be 74 billion last year.

Don't confuse concepts.

We did not laugh at the US, Japan, India, etc. We just provide links. And you know. Their response is different from that of LDC countries. we have no racial attacks. no dirty response. no one pretended to be a victim. we discussed it carefully most of the time.

Like you said @Viet he is one of my friends. different from BD. he will not attack others for no reason. oh, he's more humility than most Bangladeshis.

So until now. Bangladesh still do not know what is "humility".
