Because both Indian Muslim League and Hindu Mahasabha were created by the British. Both have the same goal of dividing people of the subcontinent on religious lines to further the interests of the British.

Wow, didn't know this. But I remember Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan being mentioned in our history books as the 'Frontier Gandhi'. Need to read up on him in detail.

Just checked up on his Wikipedia page, he passed away at the age of 98 in 1988!

The purpose of NRC is to maintain a national record of all citizens of India. It is very much desirable. The proposed bill is still not an act but the act should have a future cutoff date (for example :01-APR-2021) for requiring any Date of Birth documentation and grant automatic citizenship with NO documentation to all people who have already been living in India.

Admirable. But you should understand (and I am sure you do) that the sole intention of the proposed NRC is to disenfranchise Muslims and reduce them to a stateless minority (like what Burma did to the Rohingya). The NRC will never be implemented if this desired goal cannot be done.

Disagree. There is no citizenship record in the US. No one has to submit to a special citizenship test. Documents issued by various authorities form the basis of your citizenship (birth/naturalization).

The same situation exists in India as well at the present. Documents issued by various authorities form the basis of your citizenship. Why does another government entity need to be involved to check the documents issued by other government entities and bless them? So much for minimalist governance.
