100 to be more precise.

ИТАР-ТАСС: Политика - Россия поставила Азербайджану 100 танков Т-90С

Yes, it was previously reported as 94 but the official number given is 100.

+ option for another 100 units.

A lot better than what any of our neighbors have and pretty cheap as well
at a price of 3.2-3.5 mil
That's still a bad decision... tanks have an overall lifespan of 40 years and T90 is basically T72 with a bunch of new features... that's why it's cheap

you're only thinking about now... but don't you wanna switch to Altay?
What will you do with all the old soviet tanks then?

Actually the unit price of Azerbaijani T-90s is around $5 million, but it should be still cheaper than Western equivelants. However, these Western equivelants are out of question for Azerbaijan even for political reasons, so I'm not sure if such an example is the most appropiate one. Then there is the fact that T-90 is logically the most practical choice for a country which operates T-72s.

T-90 features a completly different turret to begin with, even its "naked" turret armor (without ERA) is many times more capable. It is not the most modern, but not "outdated" either.

look, the point is, we'll probably produce Altays in Azerbaijan, you'll get maybe a thousand tanks

And you will love Altay, it'll be far superior to anything you've got, you'l probably wanna send those T72/T64 variants to Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan or somewhere... it's a waste of money and resources

And most importantly, Turkey will always be on Azerbaijan's side. The money you've paid for Altay will ultimately be used to develop better equipment for you. We won't donate weapons to Armenia, we don't have base in Armenia either.

Author of vedomosti newspaper.

Also, there are certain differences between different versions, so slight price differences can be excepted. Azerbaijani version has complete Shtora set (including the newer TsHU-1-7M) to begin with, as well some other features. For example, Indian T-90s don't have a single component of Shtora.

So what kind of stuff have the armenians been buying lately?

the only good purchase they made or pretty much the only purchase they have made in recent years is AR1A

but they only have 6 systems (1 battery)
while Azerbaijan in comparison has 36 Smerches , about close to a hundred Lynx Extra which can launch 150km missiles , and Turkish 40? TR-122/300

An Azerbaijani captain and a sergeant were killed following an armed assault by Armenian soldiers.
World Bulletin / News Desk

Two Azerbaijani army officers were killed and another was injured from gunfire by Armenian soldiers in a border dispute, according to Azerbaijan officials.

Captain Fikret Mammadov and 23-year-old sergeant Khudaverdi Abilov died after Armenian military forces at Fuzuli district opened fire along the border close to the disputed Karabakh region, Azerbaijan defense ministry said in a statement released on Wednesday.

The ministry added that the Azerbaijani army had responded to the attack and that the situation was now under control.

Azerbaijan and Armenia, two former Soviet republics, fought a war over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh in the 1990s.

Efforts to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict, which has lasted 20 years, have so far failed. The two countries have no diplomatic relations.
