Auto quality gap between domestic, foreign brands narrows: Study

Sure, that is true. But from my view, China is a massive market, and we're profitting so much from sales with China. Remember that China has yet to even achieve 30% of its full potential. Now, if marketing projection is accurate, that means there is still untapped growth potential as China transforms from being a manufacturing based economy to one that is a consumer-based economy. Right? Sure there will be Chinese consumers that will prefer their own Chinese brands. Look at Japanese, Americans. There are some that have a "Buy American cars, Support American economy!" or "Buy Japanese cars, Support Japanese Economy" kind of culture/ rhetoric. But data shows that these people are only a fraction of the market. There are substantial amount of Americans who buy foreign cars; as Japanese who buy foreign cars. The same will apply for Chinese neo-rich and neo-middle class.
Market potential, yes. But never record high like 2008.

Definitely. And I am so happy to see how Nissan-Infiniti is teaming up with Dongfeng to tap into this new opportunity. See, it goes to show that China and Japan can cooperate. And when we have symbiosis, its pretty damn good.
In the current, new energy vehicles is with a policy driven and will last for years. BYD will keep increasing from 2015 for their battery technology. I support BYD(比亚迪).
In this process, I will predict that some factotries will gradually close down just in 10 years.

We'll see. Or factories will be re-converted.

LOL! I'm doing my Ph.D in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. So HRM is my forte.
BTW, Big $$ opportunity here for HRM specialists in auto industry. If you're HRCI certified and experience with SPHR, the salary is very good. It ranges from $90k to $150k. Based on experience, and education. But yea, you should consider applying here.
They pay us at least 30k or 40k more than the Engineers. LOL!!
Go where the money is at man. Then go back to China and apply what you know.
:D
HR manager.

I have ever considered the choice but I give up and start my own business.

I will never go abroad for work.

It depends on position. For the value assessment of position HRM>QCM>IE.

You can also choose a consultative management company. Are you serious to be a HR? :D Then you should follow the routines:
1. Apply a position from HQ in Japan and get trained for at least half year in HQ.
2. Choose a proper position and a boss in China.
3. Send a request to be appointed to China for years.
To many of your people, to be appointed to China is crazy if there is no new program and new position. :D You should ask somebody in 2ch first.

HRM in a more than 4000 employee Senior Manager's salary is about 600k, Junior/function manager is about 200-300k, section head is about 150k in domestic side. You can double/triple it at least for you are appointed by the HQ and have a good compensation pakage. But I don't know the exact figures from partners side. Last time I read the news that foreigner's salary is 30% higher than in other country's.

A $120k package for total year is ok?

This is my ideal range. I will not accept lower than $100k package. So far, I've only received offers here within the range of $105k to $150k. Considering the cost of living in China and its distance to Japan; it would be ideal. To be honest, I've not considered applying to positions in China, but I should look more into it.

He he he, its popular to live and work in China , i hear. China , especially the cities, is becoming more and more like Japan. Plus, the culture and society is so similar to back home so many Japanese who go there to work don't experience a 'culture shock' as when some of us come to the USA/ WEST. lol.

Thanks for the recommendation, @jkroo -sama. Appreciate it. :)

The biggest issue with Chinese indigenous products is quality of work. And this runs throughout its civilian and military product range Be it a small radio or fighter aircraft.. unless you directly sit at the factory and constantly keep check on quality.. somehow for reasons unbeknown.. quality level would fall. However, recently the level of quality control has gone up in private manufacturing and this is due a change in psyche of the Chinese manufacturing industry to them being an outsourcing hub for many(if not most) of the best brands in the world.

Today's Chinese imports have qualities that are comparable to the JV Korean Cars that would come in. So they are close to the level of manufacturing Hyundai or Kia give out on their vehicles within the international market. Additionally, the Chinese car will have more features but the lack of quality or rather cheap materials in certain areas ends up ruining the look. This is the same story that haunted Chinese cellular phones till firms like Oppo and Xiaomi introduced strict quality control into their manufacturing. The same has to be done with Chinese brands before they can be compared to accomplished brands such as Toyota or BMW.
There are operations and manufacturing standards that set firms like Toyota and BMW to their status. But then again, even they have mistakes and recall millions of cars. All the Chinese need to do is follow industry ideas like Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen to turn their brands into world beaters..
If Huawei can do it, so can Chinese car manufacturers.

I would even add that there is a level of maturity and camaraderie in Chinese auto market. For one, I admire the cooperation between Nissan and Dongfeng. We don't see this kind of cooperation with Korean brands such as Hyundai or Kia.

I wish the best for China's auto market. In fact, I'd like to see more Chinese cars in Japan. I'm all for good and healthy competition as well as overall development of Northeast Asia.

I dont see that happening for some very pertinent reasons.
First, the Japanese automarket is VERY well established and ends up with excess capacity as well.
Second, There is nothing on Chinese cars that could find a niche market in Japan.

From the outside and inside, i am really impressed. The body reminds me of a fusion of Jeep's Grand Cherokee (2010 + models) and that of WV's Tiguan model.

Looks good !
It designed by using some popular elements, no doubt. But apparently, it is different. Originally, I want replace my old H6 with this big guy.

More impressive model is another big guy BYD Tang(比亚迪唐). I love its power assembly system but I think if they improve the design of the side will be better. This is a totally supper SUV with new conceptions. With an overall 505 hps power output and it only take 4.9s to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. I am considering it.

BYD K9 in Japan though it's a bus. The best electricity bus is sold to 59 countries.

And you should not know that Chery's 2.0L engine is exported to USA and Japan. Yes, we still need about ten years to become a global player that does not mean our products' quality is not good.
