Asian Games 2014

Yeah ,like Bahrain or Qatar, their Basketball team was of 50% African players with some track athletes from kenya aswell , :D but they are doing damn good ,Qatar in particular ,damn they won 7 gold out of their 8or9 medals :hang2:
And why do you people whine about if other countries import athletes from African /Europe etc. ? Is it a crime? After all at the end of the day they look at which countries came up on top, not how many players they imported /naturalized. Same as U. S in Olympics, they just count how many gold /total medals the U. So won to top the medal tables, they don't count how many African American players won for the U. S
So I don't know why you Asians keep whinning about this. Wait.. ..I know why.. ..it's because you people are too closed/less tolerant or even racists towards other races becoming part of your country /citizens. After all, how many African, Latinos, carribean ethnic origin citizens or officials are there in Asia? very little or none . Compared to us in the west where You will find ethnic Chinese, Indians, Russians, Africans, Arabs, latinos, blacks, Muslims etc holding government positions, governor, officials, sportsmen, or even president like Obama. Still some will accuse us of being racists. :disagree:

African athletes have 'unfair' advantage at Asian Games, say runners

Asian Games: Boxer Sarita Devi loses controversial fight, India may appeal

bloody cheaters

India's Laishram Sarita Devi lost her her semi-final bout against Park Jina of South Korea and had to settle for bronze in women's lightweight (57-60kg) category. The baffling thing however was that the Indian boxer seemingly dominated most of the bout but the judges went in favour of the South Korean.

File picture of Sarita Devi (L)

Here's how the fight went:

1st round to Park Jina: All three judges have given the first round to the Korean, who apparently landed more punches. It wasn't evident. Very tight contest.

2nd round: Two of the judges favouring Sarita for the second round, 1 of them gave it to Park Jina. Baffling really as Sarita seemed to connect more.

3rd round: Two of the judges have scored the third round in favour of Park Jina. This is incredible. India has to appeal this. They are not watching the same fight.

4th round: The Korean gets the decision. Sarita is shocked. The crowd boos the decision. All the judges scored the last round in favour of the Korean. India has to appeal this. Sarita Devi is talking to the officials.

"Don't accept this decision. Feel robbed. Favouritism in such events isn't good. Korean boxer gifted the win. Plead judges to be fair." - A livid Sarita Devi told Indian Express' Mihir Vasavda.

Vasavda, who was present during the bout, further reported that Sarita Devi'shusband went wild with rage and was involved in a scuffle with the security. "You f***king koreans have stolen this medal. You f**king Koreans are killing boxing. Don't fix matches. Play fairly. Motherf**kers," he told the judges.

#AsianGames2014 There can't be any appeal against judges decision. So Sarita will only get a bronze. Just accept the decision say coaches

AIBA rules state you can only appeal against the referee's decision -- not against the judges. #AsianGames2014 #SaritaDevi

Can you elaborate? We don't have the games here in America.

Koreans are competing closely with Japanese.. Chinese have taken a massive lead in terms of gold medals that total gold medal count of first 4 nations after china in medal tally doesn't match china's gold medal count... SO this is fight for second spot where Japan is trailing to Korea...

asian games going on in south korea , in a match between indian boxer and a korean boxer the judge favored the Korean when in no way she deserved to win . They also did the same against a mongolian boxer .

I havent watched the bouts, but this happens fairly commonly in boxing. Some pretty shady stuff happened in olympic boxing during the olympics in South Korea.

One thing though is that boxing itself is full of controversy.

ones represented the United States at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, where he won the silver medal.[2] He dominated his opponents, never losing a single round en route to the final. His participation in the final was met with controversy when he lost a 3–2 decision to South Korean fighter Park Si-Hun despite pummeling Park for three rounds, landing 86 punches to Park's 32.[2] Allegedly, Park himself apologized to Jones afterward and the referee told Jones that he was dumbstruck by the judges decision.[3] One judge shortly thereafter admitted the decision was a mistake and all three judges voting against Jones were eventually suspended. An officialIOC investigation ending in 1997 found that three of the judges had been wined and dined by South Korean officials. This led to calls for Jones to be awarded a gold medal, but the IOC still officially stands by the decision, despite the allegations. Jones was awarded the Val Barker trophy, as the best stylistic boxer of the 1988 games, which was only the third and to this day the last time in the competition's history when the award did not go to one of the gold medal winners. The incident led Olympic organizers to establish a new scoring system for Olympic boxing.

Both the appeals (from India and Mongolia) have been turned down.. These are not the only incidents.. Roy junior from USA had to face very infamous incident in 1988 Seoul Olympics.. So Koreans have a history of cheating in the game.. What is the point of having games at international arena, if they are not fair.. Why not buy them???
