Another province can be created in Punjab - PM

OMAR:
We divided that because we Muslim Punjabis wanted to be with an Islamic country, Pakistan. Even Jinnah wanted the entire Punjab region to be with Pakistan but the British did not allow that. We will not allow our beautiful Punjab to be divided further. Punjab already made too many sacrafices in 1947.

This post of yours DOES NOT contain a single fact as to why you don't want more provinces. You have to get rid of your ego and emotions and think for the betterment of the society.

Give us facts as to why you oppose.

EDIT: The red part of your post was a sarcasm or you are only capable to make such comments? Ok, Punjab is beautiful, that is why we don't need more provinces. Are the 'more' provinces a type of machine which will digest that 'beauty' of smog?

We shouldn't make more provinces, instead each province should create more collective administrations that cover a specific geographical area. I as a gujjar from punjab would like this.

For instance in the UK you could say the provinces are the regions e.g. North West. The region is then broken down into counties e.g. lancashire, greater manchester these are then further broken down into councils for each of the areas.

Therefore relating this to pakistan punjab should stay as it is, each district should be put together with its neighbours and allocated certain resources and be asked to return taxes to the treasury and act as a county for example the administration of gujrat, mandi bahauddion, gujranwala districts should be combined on a county level.

As far as i understand each district/zila takes care of their own business now and not as a collective county as i have suggested.

This will localise administration allowing the state to know who is performing and who isn't, it will also create competition between each county. The state as a whole will also be able to prioritise development and tax collection on the basis of each counties performance.

If we are to develop as a nation we need to overhaul our tax system which will help develop infrastructure, education etc

If i am wrong please feel free to mention it, as i am not fully aware of how the administration works in Pakistan

.
More provinces mean more administrative units which in turn will create less responsibility on the government which in turn will make province a more 'home' as the money collected from the tax will be spent on small area and less population.

On top of my head, the only benefit it will serve in the long term is, the system will become a little bit more efficient. However, district government does not have provincial powers and all the tax collected from a district will go back to the elephant belly province. We need more powers and for that we need more provinces so the system becomes more effective with more powers.

your post is slightly ambiguous so let me rephrase it - and correct me if i am wrong

First you said we need to keep Punjab as it is and rather bring the governance to local level (i.e. district level) but don't you think by this why not we completely abolish the whole provincial process and bring our government to district level only? why do we even need the provincial government if the districts can take care of themselves? The federal will control all the natural assets and the districts will be responsible for the development of their own districts with the budget allocated to them annually.

Because like you gave an example of UK... They don't have provinces but their counties are responsible for their developments... just like if districts will be - in this way

.
The biggest obstacle for this---Feudal, Sardar, 'Jargay', the famous Bugtis etc etc

One should think that why are they opposing this?

If you guys think that creating more provinces bring administrative or economical stability than you are wrong. People who want more provincial division holds political reasons but not for progressive social system. Baseless & illogical demand.

Today we will divide on bases of ethnicity tomorrow there will demand by lingual pronounced difference. Hafizabadi, Faisalabadi, Mianwali, accent based division.

It is better to develop infrastructure and administrative economical situation on district level. New provinces doesn't help to turn situation.

If you are not satisfied by current administrative policy then it doesn't means you go for separation (as typical mentality of our people) but demand from provincial government to increase amount on development which depends over turn out ratio. Which districts give more turn outs respectively they have right to get more in spending money in social development or for administrative infrastructure building.

There are representatives in NA from all over country so when provincial government working out participating in Federal development programs then its duty of district representatives in NA & PA to show investment, turn over, development statistics of their area to prove that they have right to get more % of this federal or provincial programs. All depends over district repute & enthusiasm toward progress. But it doesn't means you violate national administration settings.

I will call this demand as (Jahalat). Un professionalism but only for Narey bazi & wish to eat more and put into pockets which they cant do in current systems.

disagreed, if you want unity, then finish this province system

You know why we create province or state?. It is a administrative requirement so that they better govern, even in banglabesh it have more province then Pakistan.

We need to create more province so that we can focus more public problems. But i think our people are not aware for the same.

South Punjab has a very strong case for a province. They were never part of punjab and dont like to be reffered as punjabis. Even the core people of Pothwar region dont call them selves as punjabi and when talkeing about the central punjab regions say "this is how it is in Punjab"(Punjab mai aisa hota hai). I think it should be done.

more than 100% agree, bro!
May Allah help the people to get their genuine right!

More provinces, more CM's, more ministers, more helicopters, more lavish expenditures etc etc.

Instead of making 10 small and little provinces, just make administrative units.

Every unit gets it's own representative, just like the CM , gets voted, but that guy won't be the CM, he would be of a smaller level.

Then all the administrators and the CM of whole of Punjab can then discuss the issues.

why administrative unit name would be Punjab then at first instance, again on the base of ethnicity...no problem if 10 or 20 admin unit but must be based on the same rule in whole country, not only specifically for Punjab....and what about the people who have to suffer who are sometimes ill must have to make many times to suffer and to visit Lahore for every matter (for visa, for hajj recruitement, better education as infrastructure is less in this belt, for job as univeristies in upper Punjab are paid more then). Can you count the suffering in terms of finance, health of the people who have to travel to lahore not once but many times and this distance would be too long as of the whole england from one part to another part. this would mitigate the luxries of a CM as already population contributing 6% or 7% are having their CMs etc...so brain drain problem also went...

Japan has less land mass then us and about the same population, and they have 43 prefectures (provinces)
The reason we need much much more provinces is that they will be able to service the people better and also corruption won't affect as many people since if one province is very corrupt, the other one can still have good governance.

Also having more provinces will mean that all the money won't get funneled into Lahore or Karachi.

And finally, more provinces would mean better unity as people will stop blaming one province for all their problems.

And we need to create a few proviences in baluchistan as well to redistribute the population evenly and curb the influence of sardars

Also look at their scientific and industrial output..we should be ashamed of not being able to utilize 18 corore brains efficiently. shame on us!
