Airstrikes on a Libyan base destroy a Turkish air defense system

It could be the French, they have been angry at Turkey for recent events.

On May 27, Cirkin, a mysterious freighter usually sailing in the Black Sea, was flying the Tanzanian flag and claimed to be going to the port of Gabès in Tunisia. After carrying out several strange maneuvers, including one to conceal its identification, the Forbin, a French frigate, decided to approach it to conduct an inspection to execute the arms embargo placed against Libya.

Two Turkish frigates accelerated to protect the cargo and prevented the French from carrying out the inspection. The freighter, supposed to deliver medicine to Tunisia, docked in the Libyan port of Misrata to deliver M-60 tanks, Hawk missiles and mercenaries.

A few days later, it was the turn of Courbet, another French ship, this time under NATO command, to try to approach Cirkin. But one of the Turkish frigates who came once more to the rescue of the freighter, activated its fire control radar against the French vessel.

France has put a powerful threat against Turkish President Erdoğan saying that they will not tolerate Turkey’s military intervention in Libya.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that Turkey is playing “a dangerous game.”

You're thinking into this too much, this realpolitik there is no Muslim or non Muslim, Christian or non Christian.

What dance lol? UAE has destroyed like dozens of drones inside of their airbases and Turkey hasn't done squat the UAE.
As I said....dance.
Arabs talk a lot. The turks are intelligent brave and calculation. Arabs are emotion irrational and reactive...when the reply comes even Christians like your will pay the price .

is this report true or not ?
Nothing has been confirmed yet, no visual confirmation. There are also different claims about smuglings.

I am not saying that there can be no such attack but: If we look at the reports of the same troll accounts in social media that they claimed sank a frigate named Sultan Murat last month( and many absurd claims during TR intervention ) , now the claims about "Watiye base is heavily destroyed", must taken with a pinch of salt.

While the 2-year siege of Tripoli and all of its atrocities was broken and the LNA's Wagner group and Janjavid mercanaries elements retreated about 500 kilometers in 4 days, we saw that that some are here acting like dead when dozens of confirmed airstrikes were shared here.

It is really pathetic to try to hold on to this weak branch in the process of speculative news circulating now. Maybe a hawk battery or maybe a blockhouse hangar collapsed. That's why all this noise.

This is a war and the parties have strategies based on many tactical possibilities. This type of attack(if it true) has no capacity to influence overall strategies. If LNA or its supporter Russia had come again and take Watiye base, it could have had a strategic impact. On the other side, if is correct, this attack will lead to the establishment of a layered air defense system in the region, which is what we have been discussing for a long time under the Libyan topics.

PS:
This video, which some troll accounts show as evidence, belongs to the Israeli airstrike on Gazza. Its really pathetic.

Airstrikes targeting a Turkish defense system at the Libyan Wattia base

Unidentified warplanes launched, in the late hours of Saturday night, several raids on the base of "Al-Watiyah" southwest of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, targeting a newly deployed Turkish air defense system at the base.

According to a security source in the Zintan region, near the base, unidentified fighters launched more than 9 consecutive strikes on the Al-Wattia base.

The security officer in the Zintan Directorate, Mohamed bin Amsek, said that the bombing that targeted the base was followed by the sound of huge explosions heard in the vicinity of the areas near the base.

A source affiliated with the Libyan army said that the base was bombed with 6 strikes, targeting the Turkish air defense system "Hawk", and one of the strikes targeted the Al-Nadab lounge, which was used by the Turkish forces.

A report published by the Turkish News Agency on Saturday revealed that the Turkish army had deployed a Hawk air defense system at the Al-Wattia base.

The agency clarified that “Turkey is working to establish an air and naval base in Libya, and for that it has installed an air defense system at the Al-Wattia base.

It is noteworthy that this is the second time that Al-Wataya base has been bombed since the Libyan army withdrew from it last May.

The base was bombed last Wednesday, the first of its kind since Al-Wefaq militia took control of it.

Hah, the day before the Turkish minister came and once he left the base got rekt. Turks really thought they were something for a second there.

"Egyptians or Emiratis can't target our airbases they said"
And it wasn't those two...Egypt has yet to have that capability even the the UAE help..

What fighters were used?
SU24 & drones with SU30 air cover...and submarines

is this report true or not ?
True

There are reports of renewed raids now..
They have been hit twice, the first time a couple days ago..

Work of Russians?
@Ceylal thinks otherwise, but GNA biased reports claimed that the attack was carried out by UAE's Mirage 2000-9 aircrafts, which took off from Egypt's Sidi al-Barani Base. The engagement took place from long distance, so it's not a typical SEAD mission. I do not think that this attack will be carried out by the Russians, although I suspect this claim.

i think people give too much credit to UAE. They don't dare to do such a thing. They are just limited to providing funds and logistic support.
