I do agree that PAF could not stop IAF ingress. Whether it was due to negligence or lack of resources to monitor the complete border is not something i can estimate.
It was neither. It was purely to do with the narrative that you see on this forum itself - that PM Modi is a nut job. When you feed yourself on a narrative day in and day out, you start believing your own nonsense after a period of time.
With the sustained 'modi is a nutcase' etc etc refrain, the average brain in Pakistan has got tuned to him undertaking a reckless step. And when the IAF sent 02 groups along the International boundary quite South of their target zones, Pakistanis actually fell prey to their own propaganda and believed India will launch a war by striking across International Border. The PAF vectored in available aircrafts and those further North, were re-positioned to cover the ensuing gaps. This left a large area unprotected, which was exploited. Also, the timing of the gaps which were to occur in routine, were known to our side.
An attempt to shoot down 15-20 aircraft of IAF for this kinda thing is downright silly. I wonder if in between some out-of-box thoughts
@MastanKhan chooses to put in something ridiculous.
His rationale for posts is quite sensible actually. This post was one which I think we can agree was not his finest.
I am just a civilian trying not to react to one-sided information - hence i need to take both perspectives into account and yet see what is our gain in this.
@Oscar said that PAF achieved air superiority. I allowed myself to agree with him, while still believing that an F-16 can be shot.
Where did PAF reach Air Superiority? Care to elaborate?
Can MKIs dodge 4+ AIM-120C5 with the electronic countermeasures that MKI and other assets have - this in the context of the air battle that actually took place.
Both sides had jammers, hence, the difficulty in acquisition of targets. Additionally, IAF had ROE imposed as I have explained earlier and PAF was egressing from the zone. Every jammer has got a burn through range, and that is generally where you can either use your BVRAAM or an IR guided missile.
F-16 was bagged with an IR guided missile. Mig by an A2A missile..
If it is true that a lot of PAF aircraft came and we had less aircraft to push them back, then what to make of this?
What do you want to make of it?
Pakistani members have put forth their versions, in some detail, of what actually happened. Indian members have not.
Not here. Because frankly, no one wants an idiotic conversation where the laws of physics also get reinvented. I made that mistake here, of asking the question on how can a claim of another IAF pilot being in their custody be corroborated with the theory put forth by them that the Pilot ejected from a Su-30 MKI and landed in their side and the Su-30 MKI landed in Indian side? That too when the IAF aircrafts were in a westerly direction on an intercept vector and the wind was west to east?
That thread was closed soon thereafter.
You are an Indian busting fantasies of fellow Indians, while i meant Pakistanis in an Indian forum counter-arguing Indians. At least BR seems bad in this aspect.
And I am doing what I am doing in an Indian owned platform. The time is to make people discern facts, as hyperbole is too easy to accept but the consequences of the same can be dangerous.
BR, I have never joined. This was the place I joined long back, and it had good quality discussion. Then the generation came on board, which grew up reading the Zia version of books. And the rest, as they say, is history.
