What's new

Afridi Lala Opens a restaurant by the name of splice

you can present it in a better way, say I am investor from Lahore, and I want to invest in Nelaam Valley, should I be allowed to buy property, bring my own construction team, set up my own management team and employees and earn money and take it back to Lahore without giving back anything to the local community and locality???

the answer is NO. there should be local community protection laws.
@nuclearpak

Yes why not?

The employees would be from the locality..nobody is stupid enough to bring born in Lahore laborers.

It's called an investment. It is done everywhere in the world. Somebody else from a foreign country invests in Pakistan with a JV from a local company. You would also need a local company familiar with Neelum Valley and also get labourers from the same place.

It is Pakistan that we are talking about, a Pakistani investing in Pakistan. Not a Indian investing in Pakistan that he takes capital away from the country.

Exactly, that should be through local community protection laws, not just random good gesture !!

Recently Dalda oil management was replaced, you know why? because the regional manager appointed in Punjab was a Sindhi, he fired all Punjabis and brought up his Sindhi team.

you need to understand the point I am raising.

So that was the fault of that man...not of the whole Sindhi population? Why should we be having a prejudice against Sindhis then and not have any Sindhi man in the post? If there are 3 candidates for the job...one from Punjab, one from Sindh and one from Dera Bugti and the one in Dera Bugti is more qualified and capable, why not hire him instead of the Punjabi?

I do kind of understand your point but don't agree to it.

After all, a investment is going to bring benefit to the people of the locality...if I open a tourist resort in Neelum Valley, it will ultimately benefit me and the people of the valley in terms of more tourism etc.

.
Dont get me wrong, the guy is from FATA, lived in Karachi and invested in Lahore?

Seriously !!

there should be some restrictions, Lahore is already an example of mismanagement like Karachi, upon this a nonsense cricket Dushebag certified chawal shahid afridi is getting a restaurant here in Lahore !!

A sick minded approach...... Every word 'dubious"....

that is why it needs to be regulated through laws. this is a sensitive issue and has far reaching effects on the relationship between regions...

Sindh's quite a huge agriculture land was cultivated by Punjabis, once developed they were forced out by Sindhis..

I didnt say a single word against sindhis/pathans/punjabis, all I said was local protection laws to safe guard the local community, look what happened to Murree. TOTALLY DESTROYED !!

as for your example of candidates, it seriously quite simple as if there are three candidates, unless there is some specialty involved, such a position should be filled with local authority's approval, if such a specialty is only found in outsider and not in locals, to perform the business function...

yar system develop kerna hai tou macro level per sochna hoga !

Yes...

As for Murree...well nobody has ruined Murree more than the residents of Murree themselves. Trust me, I have lived in the place for 2+ years....

obvious, but dont understand why you dont like the relation to be regulated through law that protects the local community as one of the priority !!

He won't be playing cricket or getting endorsements forever

So from a business perspective it's a smart decision (assuming a sound business plan)

I just hope his brother remembers to keep his gun collection at home; don't do firing outside and scare away the customers

The Indians think this way. We shouldn't

Pakistani can't be "outsider" in his own nation. My village is yours, your city is mine

keep it to urself
Indians do not feel this way
just to bash India,u r posting non sense
:hitwall:
On topic
afridi has got every right to open his restaurant anywhere in Pak
he belongs to Pak and this is about buisness....he should invest his capital there where he could maximize his profit and after that its upto him whether he wants to contribute something in FATA or karachi or lahore
Dont mix religion with this things  :taz:

Let's turn the tables.

Exactly what kind of laws do you want to be made?

there is no simple answer to it, every region and its local community has different assets that needs to be protected and remain in privilege.

generally speaking, in case of Metropolitician slum city like Lahore Afridi and/or Akmal brothers belonging to Karachi and Faisalabad respectively may want to invest in Lahore as private limited company,

> The company's head office should be registered in Lahore, so the tax money raised should return the community.

> 40-49% of the management should consist of the locals.

> 15-20% of the earned profit should be reinvested in the locality, either to expand the business or as reserve for bad economic times

> Money must be kept in local bank branch.

> In case of part of investment is immovable, say Land, that should be sold only on partnership bases, half invested by the local council and half by the investor that is to strengthen the local council and at the same time save the investment money in land for the investor. this also helps keep the property to the locals or council. (we dont have local councils by the way, not working in this way)

> If you want to go hard in protectionist laws, joint venture with a local businessman can also be enforced.

> Also access how the business is effecting environment/supply/Consumer Behaviour say in case of Hyper Star, and how it is effecting local vendors and their businesses.

> Culture, how exactly it effects the local culture. say a night club may not be acceptable in down town.

these are just some of the basic points... every locality, city, region has its own environment and local rights that need to be safeguarded.

some of the rights are often compromised when you are turning a town into a mega city, im pretty much okay with that, as there should be no obstacles in development, but local rights are a privilege of that town !!

Dear if you will abide these laws to your own citizen than i am amazed what type of law will you make for FDI investments.

how much money value can you pull out of American Economy in cash or in gold, take a guess ?

FDI is altogether different thing, it is also regulated with such rules everywhere, Pakistani contract rules are weak in a sense that law doesnot prevent any mobility, neither from local investors nor from foreign investors, Malaysian economy crashed because of poor protectionism against FDI.

wonder why Modi gang kills northerners in Gujrat, he is being allowed to play bad politics because there are no laws that protect rights of the local community there...

P.S.

I expected reaction, but didnt know that most of the guys wont even have an iota sense of what rights I am talking about !!
