Let's start a thread related to the 'would/could be' situation in Afghanistan after the western forces withdraw from Afghanistan. Especially the efficacy of ANA, their police forces etc to control the post-war situation. It's implication on Pakistan can also be discussed here.

If ANA is funded well,Numbers are increased to 5lac in the coming years.

They are enough capable to deal with odd 10-20k militants.

In future they might get fighter aircrafts, tanks and other sophisticated stuff giving them more and more edge over militants

.
I agree with your statement, further the the Taliban are now facing the ANSF face to face this also takes away their excuses that they are fighting a foreign army. Truth be told the Talibs are considered nothing more than a foreign mercenary.... Afghans of all ethnicity feel pride in the ANSF. In time given more resources to the ANSF the Talibs will be nothing but a band of bandits roaming remote mountains posing no strategic threat to the Afghan state.

Afghans are more interested in sports, economic well being and which smart phone to buy these days then a bunch of Talibs who blow up schools, kill teachers and doctors.

Post-2014 Afghan scenario gains clarity - Indian Punchline

"after a four-day visit to Kabul that 20000 US troops will stay in Afghanistan in addition to the 100000 US “contractors” currently engaged in security-related activities. "

so 120,000 troops and pseudo troops [contractors] will remain in afghanistan--the USSR had some 120,000 men at their peak.....some withdrawal....

IF the ANA survives it's first 5 years post-withdrawal, and that's a BIG IF, then it's here to stay and will only get better and more capable as time goes by. If the ANA starts to fracture like it did after the Soviet withdrawal, then all the money going to it will go down the drain.

The news is US/NATO transit traffic through Pakistan has tippled, since Nawaz Sharif took over.
Pakistan gets IMF loan in return.

The question arises whether educated and well fed afghans like you would stay in afghanistan if civil war starts and trust in your ANSF or you people will fled to foriegn countries like before?

. .
Not going anywhere, things were much worse in the 1990s.

There is no CIVIL WAR happening in Afghanistan, because the world has a stake in Afghanistan, plus the people of the country had tasted the bitter memories of the 1990s so no way in hell they want to go back. Afghanistan will soon sign a strategic agreement with the US, some say in October authorizing 9 bases spread over the country in return for continued military, economic assistance. With sustained assistance the ANSF will get better, this young generation of millions of Afghans in school will slowly replace the old guard bringing new thinking.

Yes there will be insurgency in parts of the country but that wont pose strategic threat to the country.
