as expected, entire ANA battalions are surrendering to taliban complete with equipment and entire districts are falling into Taliban hands as we speak,

rather strangely, the ANA is not even bothering to put up a fight .

TALIBAN ENTERING joma bazaar, district FARYAB .
entire ANA contingent surrendered

Taliban renewed their offensive in central #Baghlan district of Baghlan province . #Taliban have seized a sugar factory and military base with huge numbers of weapons and military vehicles

entire ANA fort surrendered to taliban

Unconfirmed report says #Taliban captured #Mardyan in #Jawzjan province without any resistance or fighting #Afghanistan. Police & army hv surrendered to Talibans

I suppose the Taliban are happy that the Americans supplied so much equipment to the ANA. :-)

This is probably why so much equipment was scrapped. Literally blow torched to pieces. The writing was on the wall and the US didn’t want to see a repeat of Iraq. Wise decision this time around not to leave too much equipment around.

In 1996, Kabul itself, not the surround areas, but the city I think fell to the Taliban without a fight. It maybe the same way this time around as the key is Afghan Politics. They watch which way the wind is blowing and get off the fence when it suits them.

p.s.32 years after the battle of Jalalabad, guerrilla have learned not to switch to conventional frontal assaults too early. High risk of huge losses for little gain. Working through the local politics is what seems to be working best in tribal wars.

I had no idea that the US was destroying its own equipment.

26 commandos killed in an ambush, they were allegedly trained by the Delta Force too. These losses are completely unsustainable for the Afghan military.

Where is NATO? The Americans were hyping up their striking capabilities but now they're nowhere to be found.

Surrender after surrender.

A key targeting leader of the commandos died in that attack; son of a general, trained in the US, Shorab Azimi was his name, he was very prominent.

probably a back room deal, which is why US air power is not covering the ANA. Too many American lives lost defending ANA. Now it’s time for the ANA to stand on their own. It was going to be about internal Afghan politics in the end, which is why intervening in Afghan was a mistake.

Not at all strangely to me. It's a common sense bro. ANA don't stand any chance against a battle hardened guerilla group which is far more seasoned and battle hardened. ANA only exist because of the air cover provided by US and NATO. And despite that Air Cover taliban ruled on more than half of Afghanistan territory.
If they can defeat the masters ,slaves don't stand any chance.
And they have learned well from the past. They knew how it ended up for najibullah and his buddies. Many afghans joined ANA out of poverty and taliban know this. Good thing is they are not killing them but they must show remorse for working for the invaders.
