5 Ways Egypt Can Avoid Becoming Pakistan.

I never said religion as the reason. Read my post carefully. I said foreign interference and weak government puppets.

I know you didn't say that. But I was giving you a reason why Pakistan isn't like Egypt. I wasn't arguing your point.

P.S. Egypt has had the biggest puppet leader in their country forever, & unfortunately, the alternatives for them aren't better either. Pakistan has a weak (puppet) government true, but the alternatives are much better than in Egypt's case. There is a threat to the fabric of Egypt's society, whereas there is no such threat to the fabric of Pakistani society.

Economic growth is stifled by poor governance: the state-owned airlines and railways are bleeding billions of dollars a year, and electricity blackouts often exceed twelve hours a day. Ninety-two percent of Pakistanis feel their country is going in the wrong direction, with inflation their primary concern.
Oooops! I thought that was about India what with a growth rate plummeting from 9.2% a couple of years ago to 6.8% at present and still heading South at light speed. India's economic growth is stifled by poor governance: the state-owned airlines and railways are bleeding billions of dollars a year, electricity blackouts and power cuts galore, corruption and billions of dollars of black money stashed away in secret bank lockers abroad, a shameful poverty index, lack of infrastructure, little or no healthcare for the ordinary folk, education at abyssal levels and inflation going through the roof.

Like Pakistanis, more than 90% Indians feel the country is going in the wrong direction. The Egyptians should never ever try and copy the Indian version of a sham democracy that the politicians are exploiting to the hilt and splitting it apart by vote bank politics!

This article has some valid points about how Egypt should not let control and kidnap country's democracy. Fortunately or unfortunately Pakistan is suffering due to over active army. Just couldn't understand why Pakistani members making all the hue and cry.

Writer of this articles seems biased. He didn't answer why role of military and new post of Field Marshall all of sudden appeared in Egyption politics. What role military going to play behind close doors. ?

.
Good article reflects about reality and how to save Egypt's future from becoming a foreign puppet and weak undeveloped nation.

Hey Mr. Untouchable, I heard you go to your 1000sqf toilet in Ferrari

.
They will not become Pakistan because they don't share borders with Indian & Afghanistan

. .
Well we don't need a General Zia, and focus on growth heck I even support a Copt for being President.

With muslim brotherhood and salafis competing for power, an era of instability and slower pace of development is a real negative possibility, not to mention the potential flight of educated and "Westernized" elites from Egypt.

But i hope it turns out well in the end for Egyptian people. Transition period will be tricky.

You got two things wrong Muslim Brotherhood isn't the Salafi party, the Muslim Brotherhood party is the FJP the Salafi Party is the Al Nour, The FJP said it would need to ally itself with the Liberal Party and heck it would even accept Copts.

Read carefully before writing a reply. Are you drinking and posting ?

Where did I say they are the same ?

the Muslim Brotherhood party is the FJP the Salafi Party is the Al Nour, The FJP said it would need to ally itself with the Liberal Party and heck it would even accept Copts.
Which is why I said they will be competing.

There was no need to spice up the article with the catchy, five reason how not to......
But I know the author wanted to grab ppl's eyes and buck in return.

Basically, the entire article boils down to one simple notion, Pakistan army's interventions in politics. Which the author disproves. Like I said, he didn't have to spice it up because a vast majority of Pakistan does not approve of it.

For the time being you will continue to see such lack of substance bearing articles. Both from national and international journalists. But after next year's general election, you'll notice the trend of publishing such pieces will dramatically go down. And mid-way through next govt tenure, they'll completely disappear.

But for the time being, these folks gotta make their living, so they will write and feed on what's current. I wouldnt get too hung up on these pieces. Future, and so distant one, is quiet different for Pakistan than what's written here.
