BBC 2 iplayer

the best out there is BBC Sports of BBC 2 iPlayer. dunno if you can watch it in Canada though...

any medal hopes for China in the remaining 2 days?

Yes i always catch up sports events i missed on BBCi player, they have the best such relevised system of any media company in the world. However i checked on it this morning, but all i could see was just the day 5 event of two days ago.:(

As for China, i think apart from 1500m where sun yang is assured of another gold, i dont see any much medal hopeful, but we never know there are often surprises like ning zetao shocked 100m freestyle triumph/win. So still an open race.

Our swimmers have done very well this season, i think we will definitely finish among the top 3 by the end of the competition.we still have a few medals hopeful by the name of the young James Guy(he already has 4 gold medals). We shocked the U.S by winning the male 200m team relay yesterday(an event the U.S has won for the last decades). Our swimmers performed superbly this year. Go team Great Britain. :enjoy::tup::cheers::victory:

Sun Yang 1500m.

To be frank, Sun Yang is perhaps the only true tier 1 Chinese swimmer in the world. For a while it appeared like Ye Shiwen was one as well, but she has just faded since london 2012.

And by tier 1 I mean a player who is consistent, and is almost confirmed to win a medal.

Like Say Michael Phelps, or Missy Franklin, or Ryan Lochte.

True. Agree. SUN YANG is the only consistent tier 1 chinese swimmer iut there. Much like phelps, missy franklin and obviously katie kedecky(my best fenale swimmer this year) .

However, the chinese ladies have always won medals as well. Generally chinese ladies are usally farrr more stronger/competitive internationally than their male counterparts in sports. For some strange reason. :) Lol

Moreover WTH happen to the young chinese female swimmer ye shiwen? I watched her beat the great american swimmer last olympic in london(i was in the aquatic center) amd win the 200m and 400m. This time she finished last in the finals.WTF??:o::hitwall:

The reason is two fold. China has far more women equality than most countries, that gives Chinese ladies an edge.

Like take badminton. The strongest competitors for China in mens are Malaysia and Indonesia, but these countries don't allow their women to participate much. Even Japan is far more unequal and unfriendly for women compared to China.

Second, a lot of sports in China are government sponsored who may want medals as returns. So the most usual bottleneck for other countries, which is the low TV viewership and general interest in women sports doesn't apply to China, because government funds. Also, since women medals are easier to win, and in most sports are equal in number to men medals, China gives equal attention to both men and women, but women perform better, because others dont give attention.

No not really. You cant say other countries dont pay attention to women in competitive sports. We in the west pay as muvh attention to women as men. For example how do you explain that cjinese siccer eomen team have almost always been among the top 10 best teams in the world. While their make counterparts cant even beat a division three african footbal league team? Lool. Is it because we dont slso pay enough attention to women soccer in the west?? The chinese women beat several western and african teams in world cup this year and where only beaten in the semi finalsbby a thin margin of 1-0 by the U.S who happen to be the best female world cup team and went on to win the tornament. so the chinese womens might have even won it had they beaten the americans.

I just think Chinese women are more competitive/aggressive than their male counterparts.IMO

I WILL LIKE TO SEE A WOMAN RULE CHINA. @Chinese-Dragon , @ChineseTiger1986 @Nihonjin1051 :D:P
