I agree with you on this case. But unfortunately our govt doesn't recognize it. They consider kashmir as part of india, or at least remain silent by saying it as India's internal matter. But I wish one day we will officially support our kashmiri brothers and sisters, as Pakistan is doing.

ISLAMABAD: For over 300 Pakistani students studying in Bangladesh under the Saarc quota scholarship programme, life these days seems to be a never-ending nightmare.

“Earlier, I was residing in a hostel in Rajshahi and after my fellow students from India, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka were evacuated by their respective countries, I was shifted to a hostel in Dhaka,” said medical student Rija Hameed while talking to Dawn.

Most male and female students said limited access to food amid a lockdown in the country coupled with Bangladesh’s fragile healthcare system was making them nervous. “For days on end, we have been subsisting either on bread and jam or just biscuits,” said Rija.

Bangladesh has reported 218 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 20 deaths, so far, and there are fears it could spread rapidly throughout the densely-populated country, whose weak healthcare systems risk quickly becoming overwhelmed, according to Reuters.

Informed sources told Dawn that Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing has forwarded to the foreign secretary an application of the father of a Pakistani student in Bangladesh seeking early action in order to evacuate them as soon as possible.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui, when contacted for comments, said she could do so once she gets a report on the situation from the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, and the vast majority survive. But for others, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can be more severe, even causing pneumonia or death.

CHT is an integral part of Bangladesh while Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. Only a fool would compare these two.

Besides, India did support the CHT insurgents starting from 1976.You helped the Shanti Bahini to set up bases alongside the borders & provided arms & money to these insurgents.As a result, thousands of our people died.Don't think we have forgotten.

I want to remind you of Bangladeshi Govt of Khaleda Zia supporting NE Indian terrorist organizations very openly. India and Bangladesh have moved far beyond the years of trying to undermine each other and moved to solid cooperation.

When India and BD settled boundary, there was cross-party support to the deal which meant India losing over 10,000 acres of land to BD.Today, India completely supports the territorial integrity of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has done the same.

Today, nation-states in most parts of the world have more or less become comfortable with their geography or are in the process of confronting reality and forced to become comfortable with their borders. This is because the cost of changing borders is enormous whereas the benefits of cooperation are also enormous. This is particularly so as most countries have enough weapons and resources to impose very very high costs on aggressors.

Think things through before you talk, India is no longer the nation it was two decades years back. For the 'eventually' you use, India would be an even stronger nation, economically, militarily, diplomatically.

You would prefer to make India and Bangladesh enemies again?
