1971 War Veteran Lt Colonel (Retd) Derek Joseph Passes Away in Peshawar. Laid to Rest with Military Honors

Quite a rarity to see a non muslim in Pak armed forces at this rank. Makes me wonder was there ever a Hindu commissioned office?
There are definitely Non-Muslim officers of his and higher rank now and before in the Pakistani armed forces, it’s only rare because the population itself is a minority…it doesn’t take much searching to find more.

.
They may be undoing some of that with their current ruling ideals.
Not quite true
Excuse me. I meant Both hindu/muslim are staunch followers of their religion and despite differences they fight a common enemy (mainly Pak). I mean Hindu in the IA makes sense but even Muslims fight Muslims of Pak. That is a successful injection of nationalism in the IA.

. .
yeah.. hv already listen him.. good talk..
but then there are many RSS followers in IA... anyway, IA can sort out itself..
RSS is not what media portrays it to be, you might not be aware as you are in Pakistan but Indians very well know what RSS is and what it is not, RSS itself has it’s own Muslim wing called MRM.

. . .
Allah forgives whom He wills, punishes whom He wills...end of discussion.
ALLAH has already made it clear. I think instead of debating I would suggest Muslims to go read Quran and Sunnah in detail. Still I salute the officer for his service for Pakistan.

.
Or maybe he was just framed and made an example of to prevent other Hindus from applying to the forces or think of spying. Too much of a "security risk" and distrust.
Atleast Christians are "people of the book" like few have pointed here.
Several Hindu officers and soldiers are serving in Pak Army and now Sikhs are also joining. While Christians being a larger group were always in bigger numbers and have made Geberals. Gen Noel Israel and several PAF officers come to mind.
The hindu and sikhs were reluctant in the past but not anymore.

RIP Sir! We will but forever remain in debt for your services to Pakistan.

For those bringing in religion, save it!

why do you religious types always pretend that you are only one who have studied the Quran and Sunnah?

Om Shanti🙏.

Soldiers who fight honorably should always be respected regardless from which side of the border they are.

Such heroes..

(Going off topic as doorstar has shown his grievance)

I think ISPR/PTV should promote Muslims reciting Naat about Hz Ibrahim, Musa and Isa (AS). The verses can be agreed upon the commonality of our religions.

Saleem Raza also recited Naat despite he wasn't a Muslim. Plus, it will encourage harmony and a sense of owing all those Prophets.

Like Isai has been made a 'bad' word (Khadim Rizvi). Christians wanted to be called "Masehi". Whereas, Isai means followers of Hz Isa (AS). In fact, Muslims can be called Isai too as we think we are the true followers of Hz Isa (AS). Similarly, we are Musavai and Ibrahimi and Adami (Aadam AS).

I guess, to break the stereotypes we should recite "naats" for Hz Isa (AS), Hz Maryam (AS), Hz Musa (AS), Hz Ibrahim (AS).

Why Muslims cannot recite something like this:

If some concepts are not compatible, then just change it.

@HRK @SQ8 @Imran Khan @Zarvan @_NOBODY_ @waz @Areesh @Norwegian @PaklovesTurkiye @The Eagle @PakSword
Also, where is 'the deterrent'

hmm...Needs more talking and debate

A Jewish man was among the Martyrs of Badr, and we all know as Muslims the status of the Shuhada of Badr in Islam, It doesn't matter if he was Christian because he wasn't fighting for a religious cause but a country/his home and also it also doesn't matter what your religion is (Jewish or Christian) as long as you are fighting to defend yourself from a brutal enemy or fighting for Haq (truth) you still have chance standing in the presence of the creator. May Allah over look his sins and Allow him the company of the companions of the Jannat.
What was his name?
He was Armenian.

He was a Turk.

No he wasn’t - he was coddled quite a bit after he revealed all the positions of observers and ammo dumps to Indians in 71. But as an Indian accustomed to pretending to be the wronged party even if you are guilty, I cannot expect you to ever take it on the surface.

“Bheegi billi banna” is a trait mastered by Indians.

Well then you have to wonder why he had chosen to spy for the enemy. Couldn't be just money, something made him feel he didn't belong to the country, values that aligned more with the enemy even after army training. Could be the people he knew in army are as much to blame for his mindset development? Worth thinking about.
The mindset is also seen on how you decided it was good to highlight the lone hindu spy case to represent hindus in this thread, where another minority officer was being glorified.
In any case can you provide sources for this particular case? Couldn't find sources online.
